FOOK or FWE?

Which of the two should I pick? I'm modding my game and thus far have had no problem but it would seem that these two would be incompatible. I'm wondering which I should get or which I should put higher on my load list.

FOOK adds more weapons/armor/worldspace stuff (content) while FWE focuses on changing gameplay, not as much variety of weapons is added (although still better than vanilla).

From what I have heard, FOOK is much buggier than FWE, so you may have to consider whether FO3 is already borderline unstable for your computer. I've been using FWE for a while and I like it a lot, and because it adds less content, there are less mods that are incompatible with it. At worst all you'll need to do is tweak weapon stats to make them compatible with FWE, but that takes a few minutes and requires no special knowledge of modding. I also appreciate how FWE is almost completely configurable. The primary needs system, looting amount, barter system, respawn system, damage multiplier, bullet time slowdown, pretty much everything can be tweaked to what you like best.

If you just want a total overhaul in one package, FOOK is worth trying out if you don't have many other mods already.

I personally suggest FWE, however.

One last note: I highly recommend NOT using both of them together unless you're okay with lots of inconsistencies in game. AFAIK the FOIP patches for FWE and FOOK are not up to date, and it'll probably just make your game even more unstable than either FWE or FOOK alone.

I don't believe so, not directly. However you might want to look around for one of several "armory" packs, which add similar guns. Most famous is the 20th century weapon pack, which adds tons of guns. The downside is that you will have to manually edit the stats of these guns to fit in with FWE values, otherwise they'll be uber weak. There are less mods that add in armor than mods that add guns, but thankfully, you won't have to mess with armor stats as much to make them FWE consistent. I think that antistar's dragonskin outfits are the most popular, they are pretty nice looking combat-armor type things.
