Mods and video quality

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been having a lot of trouble getting Oblivion mods to work. I've tried using OBMM and just doing it the old fashioned way by putting the textures and meshes straight into the data files of the game. It SHOULD work, but when I actually play the game (I've been working with character mods mostly) the name of the mods will appear in the character creation screen, but they won't come out the way I want them too. For example, I downloaded a cosmetic eye pack, and when I applied them to the character, rather than coming out the way they were supposed to they turned the characters eye completely black. I have talked to several people about this problem and one suggested that it might be because my computer can only handle Oblivion when set to Medium quality, and that perhaps at medium quality the game can't register the mods. Is this possible? Will I have to purchase a new graphics card in order to get these mods to work properly? Or am I just installing them wrong?

You have overlapping cosmetic mods, and you are probably installing them incorrectly as well. Set BSA redirection in OBMM > Utilities > Archive invalidation. Choose one cosmetic mod. Use OBMM to install your mods, or you will have a mess on your hands (if you do not already have one.) Your GPU has nothing to do with this. Make sure your game is patched to the latest version, 1.2.0416 as well...
