SilenceXIII
Rivet City is a giant hulk of game breaking, unplayable, immensely frustrating crap. I can't even get NEAR it let alone into it without the game crashing. This is not a Broken Steel problem. This is not an Unofficial Patch problem. This is not an ini issue. This is the game simply crapping out every time I get to that rusted ramp to walk up to the city.
Paranoid23
Rivet City doesn't crash for me when I just walk around (well not often anyways) but it always crashes when I save somewhere between the riverboat and rivet city. Not much you can do about it, the engine just sucks.
Paranoid23
Just found out yesterday about the new updated unofficial patch. I've tested it for a few hours and certain locations which gave a 50% chance to crash are now perfectly stable. It's also mentioned in the docs how previous versions caused a crash near Rivet City, which is now fixed. Recommend you check it out, it fixed my problems! soprof
Sleeping for 4-6h solves that freaking crash at the bridge not to far away of rivet city. Literally wasted 40 minutes. Edited November 15, 2014 by soprof
DavidYokosukaJapan
Just out of curiosity, how would sleeping for a long period of time fix something like that?
7thsealord
Just out of curiosity, how would sleeping for a long period of time fix something like that? All I can think of is the three-day reset cycle. But I'm pretty sure that wouldn't fix this kind of problem..
