No hair

I'm not sure if this question belongs to here, but I'll ask anyway:

My character became bald today. That's right, the hair is completely gone. I already tried to reset the hair using console and 'showracemenu', but obviously every single hair shows up as a bald. But when I try to make a new character all hairs work just fine. Can anyone tell me what the heck has just happened?

What mods do you have installed on your computer? Read a post by Tomlong-He has links to instructions that tell you how to post your load order in his Signature. Oblivion Mod Manager has utilities to help you find a conflict, and it is what I use for changing my load order.

Post Your Load Order - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/troubleshooting/postlo

Do you have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch installed? You should install that too. Get rid of the KT Custom Race Fix, if you have it. If you have neither of these, that will take care of other problems you have yet to run into.

Common Installation Errors:

Before you post your load order, if you've installed both Beautiful People and Ren's Beauty Pack, uninstall one. Those are not compatible with each other. Also, if you've installed both of Ren's plugins, remove one.

I'd rather see your entire LO, in the future. My load order is 260+ plugins long, so length is not a concern. Thank you for your courteousness, but you can just use spoiler tags next time.

[tag]text[/tag] <-- replace "tag" with "spoiler"

Is your game patched to the latest version, and do you have BSA redirection set in OBMM > Utilities > Archive invalidation?

Could you just re-post your load order through OBMM?

There's the remaining mods - all of which are Unique Landscapes. I'm pretty sure they don't cause hairloss :>

e: Yeah, my game has latest official and unofficial patches as far as I know. And yes, I have BSA redirection (I think it was set default, as I have no idea what it does - but the 'box' with BSA redirection is chosen)

Regenerate the Oblivion.ini - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/troubleshooting/regenoblivionini <-- try this

Have you upgraded your video card's drivers? Try that before regenerating that INI file. You can check the version of your game by looking at the number that appears in the corner of the screen when you launch Oblivion.

TES4View/Edit - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/tunesetup/tes4view-edit <-- Use this utility to see if you have conflicting cosmetic mods installed. I do not recognize some of your plugins, and I only recognize one cosmetic mod in your LO. Oh... Heart of the Dead... Okay, you need to either install Wrye Bash or make a patch that removes the hairs from HoD. I made a patch for that once (because I do not like having mods other than my cosmetic mods add cosmetic changes to the vanilla races.) I'll have it attached in a bit.

Edit: It looks like my patch just makes those hair unplayable, which is still nice for getting rid of the duplicates when you use Ren's mod, but your problem would be most easily remedied with Wrye Bash's bashed patch, short of removing HoD.

Wrye Bash - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/prep/wrye-bash <-- setup is not nearly as complicated as you may have heard

Finishing the Installation - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/finishinstall <-- If you run BOSS, that will take care of the Bash tags that you need. You should install BOSS if you do not have it.

Thanks for helping me out. I really appreciate it. I'll check those links and post results tomorrow when and I'm less tired (and I don't need to study).

About the video card drivers: I, in fact, updated them right before posting here, but didn't really achieve anything. And you're right: there is only 1 cosmetic mod. I didn't even know that HoD gives new hairstyles.

Meh, back to the books. God I hate social sciences.

e: Ok, updated the .ini, I see my hair again. Whoo!
