theres a rideable boar ,

Sneaking MOD that accounts for 100+ skill in sneaking.

 

Needs to:

-Increase NPC intellect so that if they see me in line of sight(LoS) they attack me. If I run around a corner and they lose LoS they will run to my last known position and then begin a search and destroy but not an auto-homing search and destroy. Also, might call for assistance.

 

-Make it so you can snipe IE: if I shoot someone from far away/behind something and no one had LOS on me but on the victim they run to the victim and begin to fan out and actively search. This makes it so I can continue to snipe but at increased risk of being found if more than a 1 or 2 people are there. (Best case they not only begin to search but activate counter measures of there own IE invisibility, hiding, flanking manuevers, taking cover, etc.. not sure how fesable some of these are but at least maybe invisibility if they have it.)

 

-Third and most important, NPCs TURN AROUND when attacked from behind or shot in the back. I dont know how many times Ill stealth behind something and sneak attack them like 5 times with a Claymore before they even turn around (or dont turn around cause I sneak attacked them to death with a claymore!). This will combine with the first one so that when they do turn around they will attack me upon acquiring LoS no matter what my stealth is. (Unless your invis). As for getting shot in the back maybe they take cover or begin an active search and destroy in the direction from which they got shot. This would allow a shoot and run manuevar to be employed where you shoot them in the back and like any FPS sniper knows move to a new location so you dont get found.

 

-All of the above changes need to be incorporated in away that as long as they dont get LOS on you you can continue to get sneak attacks however they will be looking for you still.

 

-Incoporate invis so they make attempts to attack the last known position of where they got hit from. IE if I slash someone in the back they turn around and attack that area and a small area around them while backing up or something along those lines. If they get hit with ranged they will do as in the third and take cover or walk towards the direction they got shot from, because ey they dont know Im invis they just know they got shot from somewhere over there. Also, NPCs may take counter measures to see invis IE detect life pots or spells if they have them.

 

Those are the 5 major things Id like to see in a mod. Cause right now sneaking makes combat boring you just sit there and shoot crouched all day and nothing can see you.

 

 

Optional stuff that I feel should also be added but not as important as the top 5 but could be included for a complete sneak overhaul:

 

-Foes use sneak attacks, any stealthy foes/foes with invis who spot you will not alert you to there presence but instead will try to backstab YOU! However if you get LoS them and they see you spot them they will abandon the sneak attack and go for the head on assault.

 

-Archer/ranged/magical foes attempt to keep you at range until you close within a certain distance then abandon ranged for melee. They also try for the ranged sneak attack unless you get LoS on them and they see you get it.

 

 

Other stuff thats already floating around in one form or another that could be included or imporved and included for a complete sneak overhaul:

 

-Insta kill on sleeping foes. (Preferably without the need for a sleep kill dagger)

 

-Increased sneak attack dmg mulitplier

 

-Sneak mechanic upgrades (IE light armor vs Heavy armor stuff, like -50 modifier for sneaking in Heavy since it would be damn near impossible to sneak in plate no matter how much skill you have in it. Any other realism changes, which are less important after you fix the top 5 that makes foes less stupid but for realism/difficulty fun might be something you could do here.)

 

 

Its alot of work but I feel would make sneaking more of a challenge instead of just getting to 100 by auto-walking in any corner around ppl and then going out into the world as an invisible stealth assassin that can never be found. I dont know how many times Ill melee someone in the back and have them NOT turn around.

I’m really enjoying Oblivion now I have a few mods loaded, mainly Oscuros 1.31 and Natural Environments.

 

There is one problem I am having though, hopefully someone can help please!?

 

I am aware of the “Get Level” spell, well this is kinda what I’m looking for, please read on…

 

The biggest problem anyone faces with Oscuros uber mod, is that its too easy to get yourself in too deep very quickly, which is all very well and immersive, but as a character in the world I should be able to size up a target at distance and judge for myself how tough they are, or at least have some idea. Currently, there is no way of telling a high level goblin from a low level one, this unless you fight them. An ‘ability’ to ‘size up’ a target, to be able to judge their skill level would resolve most of those issues. The problem with the ‘Get Skill Spell’ is that it also casts other effects on the target, and ultimately, it makes them aware of your presence watching them and they immediately attack you. For me, this makes the spell useless as I need to make the decision if or not to engage them in combat.

 

I have put below my ‘ideal’ mod, but if anyone can help with even a simple mod like this, I can get back to enjoying the game and it would be very much appreciated!

 

My ideal mod: “Get Level Ability”

  • The ability can be performed as many times and as often as you like.
  • There are no graphic effects when using the ability.
  • The enemy is not alerted when using the ability.
  • It does not effect sneak in any way.
  • Has a range of about 100 feet.
  • Displays NPC, under crosshairs, level.

At this point there are two options, the basic option to have the NPC’s level displayed on screen.

 

The second option is to have an audible report, a whisper to your character, but this may cause issues with male/female voices and different races:

More then 5 levels below your character – “They’ll never see it coming!”

5 levels or less below your characters level – “An easy fight!”

The same level – “hmmm, an equal fight. Get to it!”

Upto 5 levels above – “This might be tough!”

5 levels or more then your characters level – “Gulp! this is a hard fight!”

10 levels or more then your characters level – “This fight is impossible! Flee now, while I can!”

You get the idea…

 

Can anyone please help? I’d be very happy with the basic version, and it would make Oscuros mod playable without the constant ‘trial and error’, presenting the ability to make an informed decision about your enemys strength, which is a real-life skill for any combatant!

 

Help would be very much appreciated! Thanks for reading.

I have been looking for something along the lines of an Ice Citadel. Maybe have it in a new zone, much like the Dracula Castle is, but much more extravagant. Having it in my vision would have it completely of Ice, and I know that would create a lot of problems, as having to make new textures for it would be hard, but I know a lot of you experience modders out there already do that. The idea comes from the Ice Gardens in Sweden, and to have something within the property limits of that. Also this would be open, meaning that there would be no change in cells from exterior to interior, it would be open so it flows easier, and yes I know this is a limit for some computers, but that is something that separates’ the good mods. I know this would be hard, but I have not seen this in the game or in any mod listing. I really do think that one that wants a cosmetic as well as an architecture design might try to do this.

The question i wanted to ask is why modders keep doin those weapon, armor, clothing etc. mods. We already have thousands of them, IMO they should strive to add QUALITY not quantity to Oblivion. I'd love to see more mods like Kea's Skill Extender, MMM 1.71...etc., these mods enrich gameplay, ads more life and role-playing to Oblivion. What I see now is that most of the mods are made for casuals and not serious RPG gamers, and I could dispense with most of these mods, and c'mon people why you requesting minor things? I think you can enjoy the game without those items or half-cheating abilities...
