is it possible for morrigans ritual to be replaced with an alternative route say if your a female and you do the ritual yourself with the person you love, instead of letting morrigan borrow alsitair or loghain

I imagine with a good scripter anything could be done there, but would not fit the actual story behind the ritual itself.

A middle ground solution that wouldn't involve a lot of scripting would be to design a replacement cutscene.

 

Picture this: You initially accept Morrigan's proposel, which would trigger the cutscene. But instead of running the default one it runs the custom made one where your character changes their mind. Some careful recycling of dialogue could probably be put together to make a plausible conversation. Cutscene ends.

 

As far as the game is concerned you underwent Morrigan's ritual and so you get to live and she stays with you. There's probably a couple dialogue events later on that would still seem a bit odd, but again, I only suggest this as a solution that wouldn't involve any scripting knowledge.

 

Personally, I like having having to face tough choices such as this one and as Dan points out it would go against lore, but hey, whatever makes the game more fun for you.

I agree, {SPOILER} I would love the option of being a mage and finishing the ritual per self... or mb Morrigan could at least cheat and transform herself into my character for the ritual after she was refused... after all, she did deny being able to shape shift into other humans, but said that in relation to Flemeth , it was not inconcievable that she could transform into something more "attractive" to entice the chasind men. that being said, she has learned her talents from Flemeth.... ahem, mb she could fake it as your own toon since, after all, Alistair is tired and most likely compliant with his loves wishes teehee.

henc ethe lore stays intact in that Morrigan just runs off to have a demon baby [ i suspect to prolong her life and increase her power when she possess it eh?] While your toon would never know why she or he survived so to speak?
