zprospero
Woohoo! It seems I must have missed a step, after redoing the merge one more time it worked perfectly! http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/AdeptusMechanicusRobe.jpg Now, all I have to do is repeat the same for the UFF mesh and then retexture the glove. I believe you said you wanted the robe dark red? Do you want me to make any changes to the robe texture then? Any fabric pattern, symbols, etc? kieranfoy
Yeah, owned! Well, as I said, I was thingking two version, one with the default Mythic texture and the rusty gauntlet and the Mechanicus symbol on the chest: http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs40/f/2009/005/f/0/Adeptus_Mechanicus_Wallpaper_by_Kjiverx.jpg , possibly even with a somewhat tattered hem if that'spossible, and the second version with a deep, unstained red color, a silver gauntlet, and the symbol. If that's not too much trouble. Anyway, the picture looks really cool. Glad that's not my jaw that's being pummled.
zprospero
That symbol is really awesome. I'll start as soon as I successfully merge the UFF mesh. And, you should be glad you're not the one getting hit in the picture. That alchemy vendor died.
kieranfoy
Yeah, the techpriests are really, really cool. Half medieval theology, half DVD player. Awww, poor vendor. Did he tick you off, or something?
zprospero
I was having a bit of difficulty merging the female mesh, but I was successful. http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/ScreenShot5.jpg Now it's merely a matter of retexturing, I might have this done by the end of the day. And no, the shop-keep didn't tick me off, I'm just a positively horrible person in Oblivion. She killed a Wood Elf here, not that anyone needs a reason to do that. kieranfoy
Cool. Looking slick. Can I ask why you put the gauntlet on the left hand? Not complaining, just curious about the psychology. Most people would choose the right. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what marvels you create. Knowing you, it's gonna be epic.
alonsomartinez
Wow that is excellent ! Was it hard to merge the two meshes Z ? I tried doing that but with a hood and a robe and I never did get it to work
zprospero
Tell me what you think of this for the dingy one: http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/adeptus01.jpg I could give you some tattered bits at the bottom, but they wouldn't show parts of the mesh behind them, so it looks sort of wrong. As for it being on the left hand? Well, I suppose because I'm right handed and I'd prefer to keep the dexterity of my right. Then again, as you know I'm a fan of Saruman from Lord of the Rings, and would say of myself that I 'have a mind of metal and wheels' and the left hand is hooked up to the right part of the brain, the creative and emotional half. Replacing ones left hand with a mechanical one would then be, in a sense, an attempt to purge the irrational, for a more orderly and logical existence. An attempt to convert that part of the brain, or indeed purge it's influence. That seemed appropriate for a group whose emblem looks like that one on the chest there. Psychological enough for you? @alonso Actually, it's suprisingly easy to do. LHammonds has an article that shows most of the process (he only imports a single mesh, there's no merging): Importing/Exporting Armor in Blender. What you must do is import both pieces you wish to merge and do everything to them until they are how you want them and with no skeletons present. Basically the only things you have to do different are up to Step 8 and then you must follow the rest of the instructions EXACTLY. If you have any trouble with it, feel free to PM me. kieranfoy
Wow! That looks really neat! Good going, really brings back memories. Is there any way short of moving the symbol to the back to keep it from warping? Well, if the tatters are un-doable, then never mind. It was just a thought. Maybe some oil-stains around the hem could be done? Regardless, it looks ten flawvors of bad@ss!
zprospero
The oil stains would be no problem at all. You want the symbol on the back? That's not very difficult. Having symbols on the front does tend to cause some issues with the female meshes. Is there anything you'd like on the front? Either closer to the neck or on the stomach perhaps?
