Thandal
Where in Thedas ("Awakening" opinions welcome too!) do you find yourself stopping just to take in the view? Is there any place you go back to for no other reason? My own favorite overlooks are from various points in Haven. The views from both the lakeside and the courtyard of the Chantry are amazing. And I wander right up to the various edges in Ostagar, both during the prelude and during RtO. Thought it was an especially nice touch to show the passing of the season (early to late Winter?) between the two. In thinking about the views from almost anywhere "outdoors", I started to wonder if the lack of them is one of the reasons I dislike the Fade so much? And I sure get tired of the tunnels in the Deep Roads! But maybe that's exactly the effect the devs wanted? "Make the player really, REALLY sick of narrow rock corridors where they can't see more than a few steps ahead, then turn a corner to open onto an impossibly grand vista of a ruined city!" So where's your "Wow! Take a look at that!" place?
ell46
 you did it. I don't really have 'A' favourite, anywhere there is water, falling snow or a forest you will find me soaking up the views, some are spectacular and very peaceful, now we need a mod for sitting down with hugs, hand holding or both :ermm: any takers? I've never looked, but are there fish in any of the lakes/ponds? Come to think of it I don't recall seeing any birds actually flying, only those ravens that are everywhere along with the mangy dog and if you read my other post you know who I think that is :woot:
danscott84
I can't say there is one specific place. But anywhere, even the deep roads, where I across ruins or old structures I have to stop and look. It's the historian in me (got my degree in history) that appreciates finding places like these:
RustyBlade
It would be impossible for me to pick a favorite as the scenery in this game is simply awesome, even the alienage has a good view or two depending on your view angle. I could however pick a least favorite and that would be the corridors leading to the servants quarters in Highever castle, tis a real s***hole. Thandal
Come to think of it I don't recall seeing any birds actually flying, only those ravens that are everywhere ...I just happened to have looked up at the Tower of Ishal as I was crossing the bridge with my newest character last night, and I saw a flock appear to take off from the pinnacle, circle once, then disappear into the distance. Will have to be more intentional about scanning the skies in the future!

I should look up more often, I always seem to be looking down, I could have missed lots of cool stuff, like I only found out in this game if you look up in camp there is a really nice full moon  Do you ever look at those little boats and wish you could go out on the water in one, I do it would be a good idea to leave the armour on the shore I hate to think what would happen if you fell in wearing it, but I'm not sure I would like to see Alistair dressed in those goofy baggy clown pants the men wear  . Perhaps BW should do a R&R add on  they could tag it onto a romance pack and call it an RR&R add on.

CrapsterZ
And some really cool modded items there I see :D My favourite would possible be the in the cutscene you see after Eamon is restored (or is it after dealing with demon possessed Connor?) where the villagers are honoring their dead, the lake + white boats and the way they cremate the bodies reminds me a lot of LOTR and the scene is awesome :D Least favourite would be the Circle of Magi tower. Very ugly, very out of place.
