... I love these kinds of threads cause now everyone can get mad at me for being a cheater! And I do cheat! And love it! ... I play games for relaxation and if I get frustrated from dying all the time, that's not relaxing to me. I get really frustrated so instead of wasting $50 on a game, I cheat and have a blast!

Wow! Saturn, you've got your playthroughs down! One of the best things about this game is that we can each find how we like to approach it, then go for it! I'd love to be watching over your shoulder for those 24 hours, 8) but I'd *never* do it that way myself. :P

Here I'm all about the "story": my PC's and each of my companions'. My son is all about the lore. (He reads EVERY codex entry, and has the game-attribute facts of most of them memorized! ;D ) I know that others are into crafting/modding equipment, (viz "Winter Forge") and still others are mad-scientists with magic wands and chemistry sets, checking out every spell and potion combination!

But no matter the style, as you said, having a blast!

As of today I decided to reduce my cheating...I was getting tired of being nearly invincible and deleted all my characters... ah well.

http://www.ladymoiraine.com/modules/gallery_HoT/albums/album126/lol.gif Stardusk, I hope I didn't scare you into playing straight! :P

Check out some of my videos, they'll show ya! ;) Like the Broken Circle ones, actually I'm going to redo them, and just do each island as it's own video, I combined too many, I really have a slick way of going through the tower and locking all islands without having to backtrack. It's kind of a joke between me and my other admins at how I play. When I started I was in tears! Check out some of these posts, maybe you'll get a giggle too! You'll find the links on this post, I use the F word A LOT so be warned! By me learning the game and becoming so adept at it, is just the irony life needs to be unexpected!

You are totally correct! I have a friend also that reads EVERYTHING! One of these days I'm going to do all the side quests, that's my final farewell to the game. I have started plaing Mass Effect so I can get ME2 and it's been even more frustrating to learn than Dragon Age but by god, I got my cheats down already! http://ladymoiraine.com/forum/Smileys/default/amok.gif I actually admire players who DON'T cheat! They impress me the most.

Amen to that!

No, no. It was me. I was playing an Arcane Warrior with almost full warrior abilities...and even though it was cool, I just thought, something is wrong. I grew up playing D&D where each class had its role and whilst there was variety a mage had his function and a warrior his. I love warriors...I don't want to cheapen the warrior experience by giving AW the full panaroma. I know you might not understand but anyway...on this playthrough and I hope I actually follow through to the end (playing a male human noble 2H warrior, pic below) I have only given him powerful weapons and armour...and I will leave it at that, instead of enchanting every bit of equipment he has...anyway, I want some challenge. Playing Tomb of King Callenhad reminded me of that.

I am actually kind of excited now. I have reinstalled Oblivion and want to start playing again after a 2 year break. Back then I only played vanlilla and now there are so many, many mods...it's overwhelming but exciting as well.

Do you have any Oblivion mod recommendations (no cheats just maybe visuals or gameplay)?

Well, I'll miss her, she was a very pretty character!

My son is a big D&D player, I used to play with him, not often enough but I understand the game; of course, I couldn't cheat! ;)

Before my last format a month ago, I had just bought the GOTY version to make it easier for me instead of all those DLC's to have to bother with, then I formatted and have not put it back on this hard drive, I'm going to be doing an upgrade in the next couple months and Dragon Age, Fallout and Mass Effect will keep me busy until the upgrade, then I'll put Oblivion back on.

Sadly my Oblivion syle of playing is more off the charts than my Dragon Age. I use the playable races mods and ONLY play as Xivilai or Dremora. Sorry but I'm sure you'll have some very cool warriors, I'll have to hop over to the Oblivion section to see what you've got! :)

I'm a major cheater, I will admit to that. I use the Starter Booster set which gives me 1k+ damage (from crits all the time...) and +500 all attributes. I stopped using this on my current playthroughts, I'm determined to finish the game without godlike damage for once, or maybe at least until the archdemon battle (I'm not intending to go through that poo again) I almost definitely just let my character hit level 25 by the time I finish Broken Circle/Redcliffe (my first two missions).

Oh, and Skip the Fade mod. I can't live without that one. Just having to go through all that crap again makes me want to puke, the difficult choice between wanting to collect the stats (so I can get my 16 cunning on warriors/mages for Coercion without adding any points in it) and not wanting to waste all that time. I've unlocked most of the achievements except disabling 25 traps (I just can't be bothered, mostly I just run straight through since they're minor annoyances) and the job board/liaison quest completion ones, which I'm going to try and complete on this playthrough with my female human noble rogue.

I end up using the debugger while doing Nature of the Beast, since it's really tiresome. Orzammar was kind of annoying too, I skip the part where you have find Jarvia and kill her. Oh, and the Grey Warden castle has become my new camp (unless I wish to shag Alistair or Zev, then I go to the actual camp)

Items wise, I use:

Leliana Item Set for DW Rogues

Devout Armor for Leliana

Grey Warden Runic Armor for Warriors

Custom weapons from the Dark Blades mod (looks much cooler)

Sylvias Robe on Morrigan (again, from the Dark Blades mod)

I don't really use WF, it's just way too complicated for my liking.

That's about it, I don't really use Zev, Sten or Oghren. I've never played BM on my main character either. I'm kind of a purist so using hp to cast spells as a mage when I'm not exactly well-endowed in the defense/armor department seems stupid for me, maybe I'll try that on the next playthrough. I'm experimenting with new spells I've never used before (man, I can't believe I've never used Virulent Walking Bomb before, it's a major life and time saver when you turn off FF)

Oh, and I start off with about 1K gold from selling arrows that come with the Booster set, and end with about 800+ gold from spending on equipment (the mods are bought from Bodahn, so..)
