Hello,

 

i found a very big bug in The Long War Mod with mac. this bug basically makes the game unplayable for me.

 

mac stats:

brand: macbook pro
version: OS X 10.9.2 maverix
memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
gpu: Intel Iris 1024 MB
cpu: 2,4 GHz Intel Core i5 (dual core)

display: 13-inch retina

 

how to solve the bug (temporary) and when it happens

 

to break the game

1.(re)install the mod
2. Play the game (works fine)
3. Save the game
4. Quit the game
5. Play the game (does not work)

(only happens when quitting the game not when i just load a save without quitting it)

 

 

 

 

i also had a short chat with the main mod developer he send me to thither than i had quite a long chat with him until he send me here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hi gewone1... Thanks for doing the research to figure out how to reproduce this. I don't currently have any time to look at it, could you make a post in the xcom mod forums instead? Possibly by next weekend I'll have a chance to give it a look, but until then maybe someone else can figure it out. (I actually don't know that much about how the mod works in the first place.)

Looks like the mod wasn't installed correctly. Or some of the files were reverted by Steam/phoning home mechanism.

 

Have you disabled Steam auto-updates? Have you blocked the game from phoning home?

same issue with me on imac os 10.08.05.

solved itself after a several rounds of reinstall and block phone home, dont know why.

At least with the current beta, they are also advising you play in "Steam offline" mode.

 

The Long War team provides support in the "XCOM File Discussions" section.
