Ok, I know when I used XP Pro I used to put the mods in the c/programs/... for whatever game. Are you putting the mods in this override folder, or the one in the MyDocuments/BioWare/DragonAge/packages/core/override folder? The one in tthe mydocuments is where they need to go. If you have them on the c drive programs route, remove them from there.

Good job Dan

Also for the .exe files.... if you installed them to the default location, it should be C:/program files/ (Either Bioware/Dragon age/) or just Dragon Age.

Once in the Dragon Age folder, look for a folder called Bin_Ship.

Inside that are where you're exe files are.

Look for-

daorigins.exe

DAoriginsconfig.exe

and just for good measure, DAupdater.exe

Choose one of those. Right click on it once. Choose properties.

Theres several tabs running horizontally across the top of the new window that pops up. Choose the one that says compatibility

Then put a tick in the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for: and choose windows xp sv2.

Tho after further research I've found that most folks dont fix the crashing issue by doing this with w7 (see other thread)

I think my pc is possessed or something :( Im goign to check the realtek driver altho i updated them all via driver direct program, at this moment im about to pull my hair out lol ! thanks so much for the tips and i am dbl checking compatibility mode, for some reason my daoriginslauncher does not have the .exe after it so even under a file search function it would not pick / or is it find the item?

FIREWALL PERMISSIONS!?!? It was your FIREWALL !?!? Holy crap, I'm floored. I never, ever would have thought that a firewall could cause a reaction like this to the game.

I mean, I know that it's capable of going online to verify your account to update your screenshots. But to cause lockups and crashes!?

Wow. Yeah, I'm floored.

But hey! I'm glad to hear that you figured it out and that you're able to start playing again! That's awesome!

I wouldnt worry too much about the daoriginslauncher. The daorigins.exe was the primary concern. The other two were just "for good luck" kinda items.

Hrm. Unless maybe your firewall has IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) which is capable of shutting down a program which doesnt have permissions.... Ok, sorry. Thinking out loud. Still trying to figure out how the heck a firewall crashes a game, hahaha.

Glad to hear you got it working. I totally forgot about that firewall issue. About any program that has web access possibilites will ask for permission to place a firewall exception in the regisrty.
