LOOT crashes on me every time I click "Sort Plugins", Help please?

Hi everyone,

I recently switched over to LOOT after finding out BOSS would no longer be updated. I seem to be having a pretty big issue with it though. I can run the program just fine. It detects Skyrim like it should. I click the Sort Plugins button and a small box comes up "LOOT is working" blah blah and it sits there for about 30 seconds or so with no progress and another box comes up "LOOT.exe has stopped working" and I'm forced to exit out of the program.

I can run Mod Organizer and it sorts my mods (or so it seems), but I've downloaded and installed some new mods lately, but it doesn't change my load order at all. All of those mods I've installed sit at the bottom of my order.

When I used BOSS, it would reorder them and undocumented mods - I've compiled a few different mods for personal use - would be loaded at the bottom of my order and the game ran fine.

I'm trying to figure out the cause of a couple of CTDs I had last night, but I can't seem to target them without the ability to use LOOT properly. I'm unable to determine if the crashes are mod related or not.

I've looked into possible fixes: Tried updating Internet Explorer, created a new user on my PC, tried uninstalling/reinstalling a number of times, among other things and nothing has worked for me so far.

Any idea what I can do? Any help is much appreciated.

Try the latest version of LOOT>v0.7.0 Alpha Testing only found on the Bethesda forum thread. It is way...different. Get the latest build click link for Dropbox.

Just tried this and the same thing happened both inside and outside of MO - Still crashes when I try to sort mods.

I did find a couple of mods with edit problems, so that could be part of my CTD issue.

Thank you! I was having the same problem, but with the Alpha 0.7.0 LOOT no further problems. To be safe, I followed the instructions to run LOOT by itself first. Then, I removed my old LOOT from my list of Outside programs in MO, and then closed and reopened MO, and added LOOT 0.7.0. Worked like a charm.
