45AARP
I had a bit of an idea, if any of you are familiar with the mentioned mod from Skyrim. Would it be possible to create an amulet/ring with the mesh files of a weapon, so that the mesh of a sword would appear in place of the amulet that is equipped? I'd imagine if possible the Wrye Bash tweaks would add quite a bit of play into the mix. Of course, you would have to do this with every individual weapon, but for players like me that stick to a single weapon or two it wouldn't be much at all. It could even be possbile to write a script to allow on-the-fly item recognition when switching weapons, so that you could switch to a bow back to a sword you had equiped without losing the visual aspect of there still being a bow on your back. The script would be beyond my knowledge, however. Has something like this been done before sucessfully? I've never found it if it has, but I spent more time typing this than searching tbh. EDIT: After spending the morning playing around, it seems like this works just as expected. Anyone able to chime in with a basic script that would automatically equip the "dummy" weapon whenever the weapon is switched back and forth between a bow and a sword, or sword and dagger, for example? Or a script that would allow one to use a hotkey and clicking on the object while in the inventory menu, for example, creating a "dummy" to be automatically equipped/unequipped when switched between two hotkeyed objects?
