CrapsterZ
I didn't even know there were gate kisses without the gatekisses mod. I always expected Leliana to smother me instead of this "forge a legend of our own" bs. I've always expected another song from her (DARN IT SHE SANG FOR THE ELVES! I'M ABOUT TO DIE summon a douchebag demon to do it in my stead TOMORROW!) I highly suspect that your problem is due to a conflicting mod (you do have Gateway Kisses installed right?) or you may have deleted an essential override file that prevents the kiss from happening. And this does beg the question what is BW thinking, we get to kiss our romance options during the course of stopping the Blight but don't get to do it right before we march off to certain doom? Are you serious BW?
ell46
Strangely, I've had something go ka-bloowie with Kisses as well. See my "Can't 'Kiss' Anymore?!?" post at: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=208015 . I feel like I must have added/deleted a file somewhere in all recent my housekeeping as well... I saw your post just as I was packing up last night  dawkspawn getting into our computers I think  have you sorted your problem yet? I got round mine by installing the 'gate kiss' mod but I am sure I didn't have that installed before, the kisses don't look the same, I think I prefer the camp type kiss I had before to these. I was bad, I started playing just to check everything was working OK, as you do, and didn't get round to checking the recycling bin and trying to figure out what I had deleted that I shouldn't. This is the first time in umpteen playthroughts he hasn't been with me and I feel like I've lost an arm, it seems so stupid that I miss him that much and it is so tempting to say, to heck with it and reload an old save, but I'm pressing on and keep telling myself it will be worth it that Loghain is going to die again. Are you serious BW? OH!!!!! don't get me started on BW as far as romance is concerned. My first playthrough I hadn't a clue, I was playing as I had played every other RPG, I wasn't even aware that romance existed, but I hit it off with Alistair right from the start and his approval rocketed, then came the rose and before I knew it I was being propositioned, very early on in the game, obviously I said yes because I was taken by the character and then NOTHING from him to speak of, it's like someone saying they will call you and they never do. All the chasing would have to be done by me, all desperate and needy. I can't believe BW were so ignorant to think they would get away with a quick roll in the hay and we wouldn't want the romance to continue throughout the game. To just let the whole thing die after the first night was absolutely idiotic. Makes you wonder if the person putting it all together had been dumped and wanted to share their pain, by making us all suffer, the B*d
Thandal
... This is the first time in umpteen playthroughts he [Alistair] hasn't been with me and I feel like I've lost an arm, it seems so stupid that I miss him that much and it is so tempting to say, to heck with it and reload an old save, but I'm pressing on and keep telling myself it will be worth it that Loghain is going to die again. I know exactly what you mean! I feel the same way whenever I don't have Morrigan in my Party. :( Yes, she's judgemental, sarcastic, snide, and generally difficult to deal with, but whenever she's not there I find myself doing double-takes, usually followed by "Duh-Oh! What was I thinking?!?" Which was why I once went through the incredibly difficult process of Keeping-her-in-the-Party-while-not-refusing-the-DR by never speaking to her again after learning about the US. Headed straight for Denerim after Riordan gave us The Talk. The tricky part was not accidently triggering a conversation by right-clicking on her when I had only meant to "head somewhere in that general vicinity" during the entire remainder of the playthrough. In the end, that turned out to be a highly unsatisfying compromise because, for me, the attraction comes *from* speaking to her! (Ok, not entirely. :whistling: She's smoldering hot as well. But this is entertainment fantasy, so they're all "Pretty People"! 8) )
ell46
I like Morrigan as a friend I find her very easy to talk to and get along with, she doesn't seem to take offense at some of my comments, like when she says she has had and thought and I say 'what just the one' I still get approval. I hope I have the strength of mind to go through to the roof of the fort and that I don't do irreparable damage to the game with the console cheat. I've looked on the net how to do it and what to type in, but found it a bit of a scarey process. I wish it was as simple as it used to be just hitting the tilda key and typing something in and then I've got to get rid of it afterwards or do I? Now there is something I hadn't actually considered, if he dies and it's the end of the game I shouldn't have to remove anything or do I, oh heck perhaps I should have done the DR  :yucky:

The "scariest" thing about using the Command Console is that there's no on-screen representation of what you're typing, so you can't see your typos :P . (And there's even a mod on Nexus: "Make the Console Visible", [ http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1110 ] that fixes this.) For the console itself, there's nothing to install or uninstall. It's already built-in by the devs themselves. When you exit the game, the Console is "off" again. Remember, after using the "runscript zz_addparty [Name]" command, you will NOT see the new member's portrait in the UI, and you will NOT be able to change their tactics or issue them any commands except to designate their movement destinations and combat targets! ell46
Will I be able to make him hold position? If I get as far as being able to type in the command, I'm not worried about typos, I just need to check on the exact spelling of his name, but I might get the mod to make it visable thanks for that. I once had to use a keyboard that had no letters etc on it, which was weird to say the least, but to not see anything on the screen doesn't appeal. I've just thought I'm sure I saw a mod to add him to your party, I don't suppose that would work instead of the console command, might check on that later. I've got to hit the kitchen now or we starve  I don't think I would do this more than once, I miss him too much, just arrived in the Palace district which is a piece of cake, so I'm not far from finishing this game. Thandal
Will I be able to make him hold position? ...I've just thought I'm sure I saw a mod to add him to your party, I don't suppose that would work instead of the console command, might check on that later. ...I don't think I would do this more than once, ... Yes, the member(s) you "add" to your Party will also hold still when you use that control. Don't know about any other mod one can use to specifically add Loghain (especially after he's been executed! :teehee: ) so can't respond there. After that once, I haven't finished the game this way again either. Only did it to see if it were possible. It was on the spur-of-the-moment (very) late one night. I had only recently tried using the "zz_addparty" command, and discovered that (for me) there's almost no point. Can't really interact with them, and too easy to overpower the environment. But then I came across the "Don't have to have sex with Morrigan?" thread and I kept puzzling over the question... Once I'd had the notion, it was a matter of working through both the mechanics (getting from the Gates to the Final Battle) and the "unexepected glitches"... The first time I went for it, I had brought Al along (Duh! Obviously I like having him along, else I wouldn't be trying to prevent his demise!) So of course the Big Lug has to jump in to grab that special blade and save *me* , with the only offered alternative being to do it myself! >:( ) Back at the Gates for a teary farewell, (but no "GateKisses" mod for me at the time) then on through the town and up to the top of the tower! Crap! No Wynne. So no healer. So the one guy in the Party too stupid (or is that "obstinate"?) to drink a Health potion when he needs one is the one guy I *can't* lose. So of course he's the one guy who bites the stone about 3/4 of the way through the AD's meter! Third Time's a Charm! No hestation. Wynne plants a Lifeward on Loghain, (much as it felt wrong to do it :pinch: ) and no scruples about employing the ballistas. Those badboys can make the AD look like a Genlock Grunt! (In fact, on other playthroughs I've made the game CtD by wiping him out that way. With Leli on the machine and no GW anywhere near him when he reaches zero, the script just choked! ;D ) So *this* time I made sure Anora's papa was the one to take those last couple of swipes to trigger the cutscene in which he asks if he can be the one to finish it. I think it was somewhere around 3:00 am by that point, hence my 3:29 posting of the accompishment to the appropriate thread! :P (But now I may have to do it again to see what happens if Loghain is... employed? in this way, but the PC *doesn't* survive the battle to its conclusion. From whom would Loghain ask permission? And would we get the Funeral, or the Coronation? Hmmmmmm.... :D )
ell46
I've got the console up and running and added him to the party while at the palace so I can see how he behaves, I took him for an airing against some DS. He is extremely weak only got 14 strength so he isn't going to be any real help at the end, I didn't save just wanted to test him. Wynne is geared up to heal him. I don't ever attack the dragon up close and personal or let any of my party do that either, but I have had cause to run under it a few times to get out of the way. Everyone has ice arrows and bows and those who can have basic bow skills. I switch them all to ranged and the only time they fight toe to toe is when the DS come calling up near the ballistas, I let the army take care of any that don't come up, that is when I remember to call them  I am awful for wanting to kill everything myself and have forgotten twice that I had them. So far in all my playthroughs my tactics have worked so I've never seen any reason to change them no matter who is with me, this time will be a bit different with trying to keep him alive to the end. I clicked on him as soon as he appeared in the party and we had a discussion about killing the archdemon, he volunteered so naturally I agreed wholeheartedly  and got approval points from him :yucky: From reading your post I am assuming as I've had this conversation that come the end he might just go and kill himself without any further discussion with me. If I've read your post right, you are saying that if I was to take Alistair he would still sacrifice himself?

Can't direct them worth a damn anyway, so other times I've figured, "Why bother?" Didn't think to initiate a conversation with Loghain, so don't know exactly how he'll behave if you've already talked. The one and only time we spoke after his "ressurection" was at the crucial moment with the AD essentially already defeated. Now that you've discovered that he can be engaged ahead of that, you might have found a way around the "Alistair offers, with a choice of only the two of you" dilemma. "The loop in your hole", one might say! Good Luck. Let us all know how it turns out.
