Thandal
Hi Thandal update on this game. I was curious to know how this character would export into Awakenings so I gave it a whirl tonight and everything went well. Alistair was King I was Queen no mention of Loghain, no sparks coming from my processor or game crashes, weeeeel that isn't strictly true, when I had to fight the talking DS only Anders took any damage no one else did, but hey if the game is bugged in my favour who am I to complain  I still haven't managed to find help with a console cheat to get rid of Loghain from the party camp  :yucky:Glad your PC transitioned to DA:A without a problem. No idea about the suddenly nearly invulnerable Party you managed to create. Did that same behavior continue during the rest of your playthrough, or (as both Morri and Zev asked... :P ) was this a one-time-thing?
ell46
Definitely a one time thing, but I am going to load a save and not leave Alistair at the gate to see what happens on the roof between him and Logain, just as long as my pc doesn't go up in smoke. I haven't ordered the parts for the new one yet  I don't think they are likely to fight over the right to die, just thinking about it is confusing me I hate to think what the programming will do with it and IF Alistair survives what will the end dialogue be, he can't say 'I don't know how you did it' can he. ell46
Thandal I thought you might like to know so I finally gave it a try not leaving Alistair at the gate and although you can bring Loghain into the party just prior to going out onto the roof, when it comes to the US it is Alistair that kills himself not Loghain. I had to know what would happen, but, the game still loads and my HDD hasn't melted and even Anora didn't complain about being locked up and that I lied to her
Thandal
Wow! You are braver than I. [Would have needed a ten-foot pole just to reach the mouse buttons. ] I sooooo dislike Loghain that except for the time I didn't know what would happen and so agreed to let him go through the Joining to my Shock and Horror! (and the time I tested this solution, of course) I've NEVER wanted to have anything to do with him. That first time I could justify letting him live, if only barely, because of the dire needs of the moment. But now? Ewwwwww! Just... ewwwwwwww! Thanks for being the one to sully yourself in learning what happens in this scenario so the rest of us don't have to!
ell46
Your welcome, but I just had to know. I did make a copy of that save game JUST in case it corrupted the game completely. I'm now going to go back to just before I did the console cheat and play the end again, because I might want this end game for something else and I do not want him cluttering up the camp. I'm still living in the hope that someone can work out a cheat, hack, fix I don't care what it's called, that will 'remove him' from the group, then my other game will be 'clean' :D There was one thing I'm not sure about, there was no funeral scene for Alistair and I thought there was supposed to be one, at least from some of the things I've read. So I don't know if it was the cheat that stuffed it up or one of the mods I'm running.
