roseganymede
I've never attempted to add any mods to the game before, and looking at the descriptions of many of the mods, it says to place the files in the "My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/packages/core/override/" or a similar override folder in Program Files. I don't have an override folder. Am I supposed to create this or should it already be there? I apologize for the likely stupidity/simplicity of the question, but I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my game, and I couldn't find (may have missed) a page just explaining how to get started with mods. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help! If there isn't one then you should be fine just adding a new folder. Make sure to place it in the right place and name it override, or the game will not know where to look for the mods. If you are using Vista or Windows 7 place it in the MyDocuments route, not the c/programs route. If you are using XP or XP Pro, then use the c/programs route. EDIT: the route you have in your description is correct for Vista and W7, I am not sure what the route would be for XP or XP Pro, but once you get into the Dragon Age folder, it would still be packages/core/override. In both places the override folder you create will be in the core folder.

The first time I installed my dvd version it did not. When my toolset crashed last month and I reinstalled both it and the game, it did auto create the override folder. DarkeWolf
The game doesnt, by default, create such a folder, I believe. I think it's the installation of damodder, or the toolset that adds the folder to the documents section of your computer. But yeah, just going in to core, and creating a new folder, and naming it override is perfectly fine
