Mod Problems

Hey, iv'e just downloaded the Extra robes mod from tegeal http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/3293.html

 

Im having trouble installing the mod, couldnt find any instructions so i just placed it in the Oblivion/data folder and wont work. Also the file type is a RAR file is this right?

 

Not sure what to do with it can anyone help me please?

I am not the world's most computer literate gamer but I do know rar is a compressed file format (like zip). You need to open it first. You can use winrar or any equivalent or higher level compression programme to open it . Some used to be available free of charge for a trial period. (I have no idea if they still are.)

 

There are more recent and more powerful programmes available which others on the forum should be able to advise you about.

 

I have not looked at the Oblivion files yet. If they are like Morrowind you may have to place the mod icons into the game icons file, mod meshes to the game meshes file etc manually.

Thanks for that mate problem solved

 

I installed winrar back on my pc and was able to extract all the files in the data folder.

 

After that it was in the game.
