Wynne Ugh

That must be why I like Morrigan, she gets to say all the things I'd like to say to Wynne and Leliana.

I started another play through a couple of days ago, I've just got to the circle and I can't be polite to the woman any longer, so I'm picking all the nasty replies as they are the closest to what I want to say, which is "just shut up and don't speak to me at all" may the guardian angel of gaming guide my hand so I don't accidentally click on her :yucky:

I love doing the fade, but I'm dreading her nightmare my esc button will be bald soon

Well, that's why they call it a nightmare :whistling: Sorry, couldn't resist

But if you stop and think about it, everyone else gets a fairly positive "dream." Lil is doing her chantry thing, Al is with his sister, Zev relives his crow trials, Sten gets his buddies back, etc, etc. The only one that is in a negative situation is Wynne which leads me to believe that the writer(s) want us to think that the old biddy is only happy when she is miserable and has something to whine about. You might want to consider that when you dish out all your abuse to her that you are actually making her happy :teehee:

 good one. If I'm making her happy with my abuse, I'm not getting appro' for it  Actually she doesn't make sense, she is supposed to be being kept alive by a spirit from the Fade, so why is she such a ditsy pain in the A neck in her nightmare, she's not as clever as she likes to pretend she is.

I don't mind the other nightmares, in fact I always take the dog these days I just love the way he drops like a stone before the SD hardly has a chance to start talking and as for his nightmare  a quick dig in the ribs it's done.

I took Shale once to see what on earth her nightmare could be for someone that doesn't sleep, that's another easy one if it wasn't for that glitch where you get stuck on that damned plant thing and can't get past with out a lot of wriggling.

Lil's - I've no idea what her nightmare is like, I only took her out a couple of times early on as she's another one I can't stand so accidentally clicking on her is never a problem, specially as she isn't even in the party anymore. I've just realised apart from Shale and Morrigan I can't abide the other 2 women in the party

Oghren is a good one too, he gets a bit freaked out about being somewhere where he knows it is impossible for him to be.

I just finished the Broken Circle and for the hell of it, when Wynne asked to leave the circle to join me, I chose option 3: "I think you should stay with the circle and help rebuild" and not only did she stay but I got the option to go back and ask her to join at a later time. Confirmed that it works as I was not going to part with all the high priced stuff I equipped her with so once again I am stuck with her standing in front of her tent listening to me getting it on with everyone else in the party

That's worth knowing, thanks. I think this time I will leave her at the circle until the last battle then nip back and get her so I can use her as gate fodder or I might decide to do Thandal's cheat for getting Loghain to kill the AD in which case I will need her for the final battle.

I would have loved the Guardian to have brought her down a peg or two like he did with Leliana. When I took her to do that quest, I thought when he spoke this is where she cops it, but NO she even put him down.

I know what you would like. I know Firinneach is on vacation until the end of June, but when he gets back see if hee can add Wynne to this mod:

He's pretty imaginative.

What a good idea, I keep meaning to get this so I can give Isolde what for she's another one I hate. Why do I seem to hate all the women   mostly it is their voices that I can't stand and some times what they say.

I think BW picked a right set of dippy voice actresses for this game, I wonder if they didn't put as much effort into it because they thought they would be mostly catering for men who seem to be suckers for accents no matter how bad they are.

That woman in Awakening with the plants, OMG as a northener myself her voice put my teeth on edge it was so bad.

I'm from the US, so I couldn't tell you if they are bad or not. I'm just glad they didn't try to add a Bostonian accent in there. I have relatives from Beantown that would likely cringe if they heard it. :whistling:

Had to read this twice to recognize the disparaging intent in the term "right dippy", (then had to laugh at myself for missing it the first time around! ;D )

Not sure what you mean by "bad" accents, Ell. In most of the specific cases in DA:O that I know about, the accent in question is genuine. Claudia Black, Corinne Kempa, Tim Curry, Kate Mulgrew: all seemed to be using their normal, (although for some it's their 2nd-language) acting voices. And I really loved Jon Curry's Zevran, even if that was a "put-on" voice!

On the other hand, there are certainly many "natural" accents that I can't stand. My current employment takes me to a part of the country where just listening to the shop keepers and waitresses can set my teeth on edge. As I told a colleague today, "It makes my ears hurt." :yucky:

The accent that makes my ears bleed is only that botanist woman in Awakening although I think the elf witch is horrible there are much nicer Iris accents than hers.

The accents of the women in DAO might be genuine but Isolde OMG her accent makes me want to throw myself off the edge of cliff next to the windmill, or better still push her off.

As for Leliana her accent would have worked for the sloth demon, but with her it isn't so much the accent as the fact that the first time I meet her she is telling me what to do perhaps they should have made her the leader and when she starts on about shoes, hair etc I can't stand that.

I can understand that you would have the same problem, I can't stand fake American accents when I listen to plays on the radio, some of those are just :yucky: over the past few years I do recognise what parts of your country certain accents belong, some I really like, but others like you say are Ughhhh.
