Razex13
Ok sorry for this stupid question but i'm a complete noob when it comes to this. I'm using the TES Construction set and i'm trying to modify some of the armor stats of downloaded armor but it won't save and I don't know how to use this at all. Is there anyone that could help me with this problem? Edit - I've been setting the modded file as the Active file and when i go to save absolutely nothing happens and when i play the game nothing is different

David Brasher
Do you have Vista? That can prevent you from saving in the CS. The best solution is to reinstall Oblivion somewhere besides Program Files. A directory that is not high-security. You are correct in setting the file you want to change as the active file. If you successfully save, you should get a little message at the bottom of the main CS window.
Razex13
I'm using Windows 7 but when I do open the Mod manager i do a get a message about Vista moving files or something like that but when I save it does say Saving....Done at the bottom of CS but nothing happens and when i try to exit CS it will say "Do you want to save Plugin?" if I click yes then nothing happens and it won't close and if I click no then it will close. Should I try to reinstall Oblivion to a new area?
yeldarb
Go to General Mod Talk under Oblivion Modifications and read the Modding Links topic. This will tell you how to get around the UAC problems in Vista and Seven, and has a lot of information about what to do to create your own mods and edit esp's from downloads.
