StR404
Now what I mean by 'in-depth' is actually pretty simple... at least in concept. I would love to see a mod that treats actors, or even ragdolls similar to how they are/can be used in Garry's Mod. I would like to create stop-animation videos, similar to what is seen in Garry's Mod, but within Oblivion (I would ask for Skyrim, but I cannot run Skyrim on this computer... for whatever reason.) I've tried to look for such a mod, but even going into the depths of obscure websites has yielded nothing even close to what I'm asking for. (That, or I just suck at searching.) So if there is such a mod, that if anyone could simply point me in that direction, that'd be nice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "So why don't you just use Garry's mod?"I already use Garry's Mod, and I see where you're coming from. To be honest, Garry's Mod would be the better choice for stop-animation in general, yet I would run into two small problems. 1) I'm unfortunately WAY to committed to animation in Garry's Mod... and I'm sure others are as well. I guess this makes me sound selfish, but think about how many other people are also used to Garry's Mod. 2)I love the character mods for Oblivion and I challenge anyone to try and find these mods converted into Oblivion. Or, while you're at it, anything other than the land of Cyrodiil or any specific city. Hell, I would love to see if you could find character models of the races. Point being, Oblivion offers much more different options than Garry's Mod. "That doesn't seem possible."I'm no modding genius, but I'm sure there could be some sort of work around for this. Perhaps something like disabling ragdoll physics in a single cell, or one cell and the surrounding 8 cells (I know what cells kinda are, not the size of them.) while a ring is equipped. Maybe you can actually find a way to write a full script for it. I do know of the Script Extender mod, and I do know that it helps with big projects, and maybe that'll help. Hell, it doesn't have to be ragdolls, but I think that something that doesn't have any scripted AI would be better to control. We do have CreateFullActorCopy to work with, as it does create actors that don't follow paths, and there's also TAI to just get rid of of AI processing. I feel that it isn't impossible to do, but would certainly require a lot of work, and I'm willing to go through any work-arounds such as the aforementioned console commands to make it work. "Have you really tried to search for a stop animation mod?"15 pages of Google and Bing (I regret using Bing, but it helps cover all of the bases.) All I got was a stream of: "Animations don't stop." or "Help, I can' stop this animation." I've searched Nexus, but I would basically find just animation mods. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, those who made those mods >.> ) I've even changed the query to things like: Ragdoll poser, Ragdoll animator, frame-by-frame animator, etc.So unless I've looked over the one result that had what I was looking for, it probably doesn't exist. "There's more to stop animation besides posing. You would also need a way to take a picture of each frame, without messing up the angle between frames."This is true, but for now I feel that simply using TCL would be a more than satisfying start for animating in Oblivion. If you want to create a toggle-able camera to go along with it, then by all means, go right ahead. But for now, I would just love to have the base mod. Besides, I believe that there's already a camera mod that can place toggle-able cameras. "Why not use existing pose mods?"From what I've seen, they don't offer the ability to freely place a camera, and they don't have truly in-depth pose customization. Again, this goes back to Garry's Mod and how it handles this particular concept. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I know this may be a lot to ask for, and even if it's not, I would still like to thank anyone who would be kind enough to create such a mod. And to show my appreciation, I would do the following:Create a video guide to install this mod manually, should you publicly upload this mod and if it requires manual installation.Give special thanks at the start of every video to whomever you are. And to create a video starring your own character. (I will even install any mods that include clothing that you prefer.)And if you don't care for any of those, well.... just say so and I guess I won't do any of them... but I would feel like a free-loader and that's not how I was raised. If you do plan on doing this, I would ask simply that you at least leave a reply. That way anyone else who was going to be kind enough to do so knows, and can help you or simply move on to another request. Also, it would give me something to look forward to seeing :D
