***this is not a thread asking for help - I just wanted a place to vent about some things and if you have EA issues to vent join in :biggrin: ***

 

 

No one probably remembers this, but a few weeks ago I posted how I was given a couple of achievements in DAO without earning them. Well that was just the beginning of all my account issues. :confused:

 

I think it all started when a 'friend' of mine found out my EA password and I knew she got into my account so, to avoid any problems that could cause me, I changed my password. A week later is when all my trouble started after that, first with that little achievement bug (which may or not even be related to what came after) and then the game was suddenly not recognizing my DLC.

 

It would take a few check - uncheck- restart- check box again, but eventually the game would read that I owned the content and let me go. Then I updated my computer to Windows 7 and had to reinstall everything three days ago and BAM it would not let me download any of my DLC once again. This time it would appear in the area to BUY yet when I clicked BUY it would say 'You already own this' yet not let me download anything. Not to mention it kept kicking me out of my Logged In state.

 

So for the past 3 days I have literally spent over 5 hours on the phone with EA ... literally no lie I think when I added up phone time it was 5 hours and some odd minutes. Tonight it was 2 hours and 9 minutes after being kicked to a Teir 3 tech guy.

 

They are finally concluding my account is messed up and creating an entire new one for me! GAH. Made me go make a new email and gave me a random username and password and it is STILL not fixed it was all taking so long that they are going to stick to emails with me now since I was on hold for 20 minutes earlier with them dealing with it all.

 

And it is still not fixed as I said, I'm just waiting. :confused: And I'm worried about all my other EA games, how will this mess with those? If I'm buying new DAO stuff will I have to log into a 2nd EA account JUST for this game? Gah. My head is exploding I am so tired of the issues and dealing with it all while I'm sick as a dog with a horrible sinus infection.

i can see all that frustration! left you sick :geek: take a break and get some rest for awhile :( just wait for the EA techies to fix things all you have to do is wait I'm afraid & let them do their job.

As a Sims player, I have had to deal with EA myself, it ain't pretty. At least you have a phone number to talk to them, this must be new! With the Sims3, they had my account so screwed up, it took them a month of emails for them to tell me the messed up, badly! Then to top it off, they made an actual Yahoo email account for me using my real name! I lost it, I opened fire on them, they apologized, and gave me 3000 store credits for their stupidity. I get my store items elsewhere so I still have the credits. EA is a real butthead company to deal with. Sadly, as a Sims player and Bioware player they are one of the biggest companies I have to deal with. :confused:

 

And yes, I think Bioware forums suck also. I can't find any help for a certain problem I'm having with Mass Effect. :verymad:

 

elooocin, as far as your other EA games, you'll need to log in under your old log in for them. Looks like they're doing to you what they did to me, only they might have changed their policy of making new email accounts after I got done with them, I see they told you to make your own. Much better! Your stuff is not lost, it's just under your old account. UNLESS they tried to merge your accounts, that's another thing they did with me. I have had SO many EA accounts that we had to go through my past emails and delete some of them. Even with all that, when I tried to join Bioware, it still fell under EA and I was unable to use my emails I use with EA but I didn't realize that, so I started yet another acount for Bioware and unable to use ANY of my emails (since they're all registered with EA), I had to go to live.com instead of hotmail.com. All my names were taken by me, so I just want with Apollo Smile over at Bioware.

 

I no longer play the Sims2 but I have 2 different log ins with their EA Download Manager for Stuff packs and an expansion. The BEST thing I can recommend is avoid the EA Download Manager like the plague. Anything for the Sims now, I buy on disc. They have a limit on how many times you can download their stuff, and that's wrong, it's one of the things that killed Spore I believe. As far as the Dragon Age DLC's try logging in under your old log in, see if they are there, just don't have the computer remember your log in stuff in case you need to switch.

In my opinion you pay for it it's yours, you should not have to download it again and again for any reason. I don't understand why DLC can't be downloaded as a file and you keep a copy on your machine so if you need to reinstall for any reason what so ever you can easily reinstall the DLC as well.

 

What happens if in a years time you dust of the game and decide you want to play again and for SOME reason EA don't exist and lets face it companies come and go all the time for many reasons or they have dumped the downloads because............. and the DLC are gone, you have bought something and you have sod all to show for it. I really really hate that.
