Valkasha
So basically you mean the weird jumps in color right? I don't think you can fix that since Skyrim has no gradual shadows at night. However this isn't unrealistic because you need a lot of different light sources to make shadows gradual. The reason it springs out at you during the night is because there's even less light sources than during the day. Skyrims engine limits light sources to six per object, which is why there is no mod or ENB that will fix this for you without cosmetic faking. Axeface
Yeh, this is why I dont use mods that make things pitch black - and why I understand why beth made nights quite bright. It's not that I dont appreciate the coolness and gameplay of dark nights, I do, but I just cant stand the visual glitches that result from it. I dont think it's an engine thing like you say though, LCD's just can't do the subtle changes in tone that are required. My old CRT monitor could (It could do Sheer, Pure black and perfectly blend it to light), and I am amazed that flat screen tech hasn't improved in the 15 odd years since I had that thing - it's about time. Valkasha
There definitely is an engine limitation on light and shadows. Try taking a torch and magelight spell into a well lit area, you will get a ton of shadow glitches and light flickering.
