barkera
I already read the pinned topic about this and it didn't help. I uninstalled Oblivion today (through add/remove programs--I'm running Vista x64) as I bought the GOTY edition to replace my standard edition. It installs okay without an errors but once I actually run it the game crashes as it loads the main menu (after the bethesda logo). I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling numerous times and with/without the expansions. Still keeps crashing. What else can I try?
barkera
Aha! I solved it! I did a search for anything called 'Oblivion' and found my old ini file existed for some reason. Deleted that, tried again and everything is fine!
roquefort
Yes, it's easy to overlook the ini file when you're uninstalling, even when you've cleaned everything else out. Done it myself
