god3006
I used to play oblivion ALOT and downloaded TONS of mods and almost every mod was very unique. One particular type of mod I liked were Homes and personal Castles But when I've downloaded Dragon Age mods like that they're copies of other buildings in the main story which is kinda boring. I was wondering if it were possible to make a Personal Castle that is different it would have things like a throne room servants and an enemy spawn room so you can fight anytime you want is it possible to make something like that for dragon age? Darksparkrul
i myself am not a modder but from what i have seen on other people's posts. they talk about how difficult this engine is to learn and they all seem to have trouble making mods like that. as someone else said about 80% of what could be done and of what people knew how to do had to be thrown out of the window because of the vast difference in engine types. so on topic, i do not think anyone at this time has the skill (i may be wrong) to make a fully custom castle. spets21
try this mod Castle Couseland if you haven't tried this yet this mod was made by Dragonagefun it has your own personal storage , shops/vendors ,enchanting merchant , armors/weapon,runes all kinds of stuff for sale your guards patrolling the area you even have a cat running around somewhere this is also a mini-quest(from the noble Human Origin) so you might enjoy this mod  you need to liberate the castle before you can actually make it your own keep. but to actually create a custom castle design your own building i do not think that is actually possible XD but this mod comes close tho as it is very large in size

DarkeWolf
I'll also point out that there's some significant differences tween property in DA and in Morrowind (yeah, I used to DL tons of houses, and spend hours in the tesc making my own!).1) You cant place items. The DA engine doesnt allow for the player to leave stuff sitting around like you can in the morrowind engines. I used to have some really nice trophy rooms of weapons and armor that I would get as trophies. No can do in DA. If you try it, it will just ask if you want to delete the item  2) One of the biggest things with making buildings and maps in this toolset is A) The stucture that TESC used to build with, was nice. It got to be second hand, very easily. Toolset.... not so much. Very not so much. And B) once you were done, you just saved your files, and dropped them into the appropriate folders, and you were done!DA? Definitely not so much. You have to learn how to edit the worldmap, then you have to learn to create the data base files necessary for the game to read your new creation. Its basically one more thing that BW made much more complex than it needed to be. Its definitely doable, once you get the hang of things.... but its a definite learning curve. Part of why some of the current mods use existing layouts, is because of that curve. Its a lot easier to learn it using a layout thats already made. Then they release the new area, and get bombarded by so many people saying "this could be like this, that should be different, how about this, what about that?" that the majority of them dont release another.I've gotta commend Dragonagefun.... he's taken the months to learn it, spend a month's worth of effort, and released a trilogy of expansions for the game. Really good stuff.
