WhiskeyRiver2
For some reason, New Vegas started giving me the evil Pink Screen Of Death yesterday - but only on the loading screens, i.e the Bethesda/Obsidian/etc splash screens during initial load, as well as in-game loading screens. In addition, the in-game pop-ups (DLC messages and whatnot) no longer have borders around them, and once again the menu cursor isn't showing up. I've tried validating integrity numerous times, that hasn't done a damn thing. Tried uninstalling all my mods and launching via Steam, that didn't work. I'm in the process of completely uninstalling New Vegas, including manually purging anything mod-related. Can anyone think of what may have caused this? Literally nothing changed between the game working fine and the damned PSOD showing up, so I doubt it was directly caused by a mod. EDIT: Apparently something f*#@ed up on my system, because installing even a single mod (i.e JIP's Companion Command & Control) causes the PSOD issue to pop up again. I have the latest NVSE and FNV4GB installed properly, and have six gigs of RAM. Edited September 14, 2014 by WhiskeyRiver2
luthienanarion
Don't load more than 139 plugins, or the game bugs out and most commonly loses textures.
WhiskeyRiver2
I'm well aware of that hard number. My load order when this started was at 120 even including vanilla/DLC. Figured out that for some reason installing NMC's texture pack brought back the PSOD issue - the game loaded fine, but the textures for certain load screens (pretty much anything other than the main background) went pure pink. Weird thing is that everything was fine Friday night. I shut everything off, come back Saturday morning and I get the PSOD right off - literally nothing changed between Friday and Saturday. More annoyed with the menu/cursor issue. Navigating a menu when you can't see where your damn mouse is is simply infuriating. I have zero idea what controls that stuff or what files to inspect - but it has persisted through a total reinstall. EDIT: Oh hell yes~ Don't know exactly how, but I fixed the cursor/pop-up/window problem. Just had to manually delete half my files and then revalidate. Dunno if it was zapping my "textures" folder or zapping the texture .bsas that did it, but it's fixed now! Now for the minigame of reinstalling all my mods >:U On a totally unrelated note - PM me your Steam info would you please? Got a couple questions for you regarding a project I took over from Befo.
