Oblivion Keeps Crashing With Mods

Hey guys! I'm new to these forums and Oblivion too. I've been trying to get into the mod scene for the past couple of days and I succeeded until tonight when I tried to install the UV mod and it's necessary counterparts (UOP, Pluggy, etc.). Oblivion started crashing whenever I would load a saved game making the game functionally useless. I use BOSS to for my loading order but please check it to see if there are any glaring errors. I really dont know what's wrong :/

As a note, I do read the readmes and I also follow the given installation instruction (or at least attempt to). I am not very familiar with the Bashed Patch stuff. The only thing I did with it was import the cells for the Natural Lights mod. BOSS gave some suggestions but I didn't really understand them. I'm really sorry if I'm not giving enough information. Any help would be much much appreciated.

I'm by no means an expert on Deadly Reflex, since I've never used it, but shouldn't you pick only one of the following?

 

Deadly Reflex 5 - Timed block and 150% damage.esp

Deadly Reflex 5 - Timed Block and 250% damage.esp

Deadly Reflex 5 - Timed Block with no damage or durability changes.esp

 

I would suspect that those three esp files would do battle with each other, leaving you the victim...

Yes you are only supposed to choose one. I suppose the way I copy/pasted it didn't explicate that but I only did choose one of those (the middle one though I doubt it matters) yet the problem still ensues :/

In that case have you tried starting your save game without the Unnecessary Violence esm and esp to see if it works then? If it does not, then start disabling the other mods one at a time to see which one causes the problem.

 

Once you find that one mod... enable all of the other mods except that one (and any that require/depend on that mod in order to work) to see if your game still works.

I only use BOSS for setting my load order, but it is also useful for just checking through the log and looking at any notes. For example, if you were to look through your BOSS log with this load order, then under 'Deadly Reflex - Timed Block with * damage and durability changes.esp' it would say Note: 'Use no more than one Timed Block ESP.' Any other mods that you have installed should have these recommendations.

 

Pluggy has been known to cause CTDs (crashes to desktop) so you may want to consider uninstalling it and make do with the non-FFP mode of UV. Seeing as your crashes are caused by the newly installed UV, this is likely the problem. If you installed UOP after all the other mods, some vital meshes and textures may have been replaced.

 

I think that you should remove Oblivion and start from scratch. Install UOP and USIP first (along with UOP Supplemental) then install OBSE and its plugins, then finally install your mods.
