TheTennessee
Ok.. I need one of two things. Either a. I need to find a mod that keeps vampirism from changing your face AT ALL (except maybe for teeth, cus they are cool), or I need a way to get rid of vampirism quickly, even if you are not exactly liked by the gods. Problem is, the cure disease poion isn't getting rid of the vampirism, and the gods don't like me cus I'm infamous. I don't even know when I got bitten, but I have that vampirism disease. I was a vampire for a while, then I went and loaded up an old save. Seems I've had the disease for forever, and I just haven't rested so it never showed. So please... I don't mind being a vampire, but my face changes, even with the mod so I don't look like an old hag, my face changes to an ugly default one, and I spent alot of time on my face, I am not about to let it go down the drain. Malchik
There is a cure. I think you have to talk to one of the healers in the churches (try Marz in Bravil) and she will refer you to a guy in the Arcane Uni (you don't have to be a mage to see him). There is a quest attached but at the end you are cured.

Supposedly half vmapires are immune to full vampirism, but damn, suddenly I wake up one day, vampirism has been added, and I am an ugly old hag. I get the young vampire mod, and that fixes the wrinkles, but my face is still bloated. Then... I reload my old save with the mod in, rest, and hey, I'm a vmapire, but my face is only slightly different, and I could live with it. Then BAM, I reload the game, and my face has changed again. TheTennessee
Ok, there is something very wrong here. I have seen other people's characters and they don't seem to have theirs go to the default face... I can't even change my character's face with the race selection screen, it always goes back to a really ugly old person default (it just has young person skin, but its still ugly as all hell). Can anyone please help me, I want to keep vampirism if I can, but this is getting rediculous. Besides that, I don't know if I can get my face back after I am cured if this is really a bug. lyth
If you're a female vampire character, anytime you load up the game, you'll default to a male vampire face mesh. That's what causes the 'bloated' look. It's AFAIK, an engine bug and not mod fixable. However, if you load up a game previous to vampire infection, then load up your save, it should solve it until you exit the game. (Just quickly generate a new character and keep a save at the beginning if you don't have one.) Also, once you reach a certain phase (Vampire(75) for example), you'll retain the 'wrinkles' of that look until saving and reloading after you've fed to return to 25%. Combining these frusterating fixes with a better/smoother vampire face mod will help alot. Also, the script has bugs that make it more difficult to remain at 25% if you fed too late. (Forcing the wrinkly changes on you.) I've posted the script fix in the mod forums and - for those who want something quicker - a mod containing the fix at TESSource. There's also, as stated above, a quest to cure Vampirism. I've not performed it, although I'd intended to until I came across the fixes above. However, if you're in a hurry, I saw a number of vampirism cure potion mods on TESSource when looking through the items mod list today. If they work, they'll probably save you some trouble. While I understand the script bugs, I'm amazed that mesh bug passed any amount of testing & QC at Bethesda. I really hope that it gets fixed by the final release of the 1.1 patch. It's just hideous what it results in.
TheTennessee
Ah, thank you, that clears thing sup. But until the mesh bug is fixed, I think I'll stick to the less frustrating method, not being a vampire. I was finally able to get the cure disease potion to take off my pryphoric whatever, with a swig and a quick rest it finally went away. I'm back where I was before with the vampire version of my character at least. And yes, it is hideous... I had been hoping for one thing though, I tried to make an NPC henchman vampire, to see what would happen. Well, seems that doing that made her dialog go away. I had to change her back, but I would have liked to keep the change *sighs*.
