How do I install mods on an Oblivion game bought on Steam?

I just bought oblivion on steam cause it stopped working for my Xbox, I started to browse through the mods and started to download some, have mod manager but no clue how to use that either. Anyways I started looking for the games data files and all i can find is the game itself and the save files under games in my profile. I am absolutely confused and would really like to download several of these mods, especially texture mods.

Unpack the files to your data folder found in your Steam folder. For me, the location is Local Disk (C:)/ Program Files/ Steam / steamapps/ common / oblivion/ Data. So the location should be similar for you too. Hope that helps. If you have anymore questions, you can message me.

There is no difference between installing mods on the steam version and the disk version. The game is just installed in the steam directory. Look for the folder named Oblivion, then inside of that find the data folder.

Oblivion is a tough game for older computers or those that were not made for gaming. The typical inexpensive brand name box such as Dell or HP are intended for web browsing or office work and choke on games like Oblivion. The listed requirements can run the game, but at very low resolutions and poor FPS.

Go here to see if your computer can run the game

You will find Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion

Fallout3 as Fallout3 PC

My gaming rig is a monster. It runs most games with full bells and whistles no problem. I am not having any technical issues in that manner, I just want to make the game look a lot better. Update textures, change up lighting effects, increase reflectivity of water and so forth. My problem is everything loads up in folders, and the folders don't show up in my mods.
