Unable to start vista with OBSE

For some reason, if I have OBSE in my Oblivion folder when I shut down my computer, the next time I turn my computer on, it is unable to load. I simply get stuck on the loading screen bar, so I force the computer to shutdown and run the startup repair which does a system restore that removes OBSE and any of it's plugins.

I have Vista and Oblivion is in the default folder in program files, I remember hearing that Vista users are better off not putting Oblivion in program files, so would reinstalling to a different location help?

You are better off installing any game you can or will modify outside of Program Files.I will recomend C:Games/Oblivion or C:I HATE UAC/Oblivion.I have to do research on linking OBSE to the Oblivion Launcher on the desktop. I use a link to Wrye Bash to start my game.EDIT I am reminded why I hate UAC. Tried to pin the oblivion launcher on my desktop to obse loader exe from oblivionlauncher exe and it stopped me! Remember to run as an administrator when you adjust the launcher

might also try to run OBSE as admin or run in compatibility mode with XP.... or both

Thanks guys. looks like i'm gonna have to reinstall oblivion later.
