Need Help with Merged Patch

I am new to modding and apologize if I am making a common beginner's mistake. I did search through readme files and FAQs for the involved programs as well as recent posts on this forum with no luck so far.

I am attempting to "Mod-Up" a set of about 20 mods for Fallout 3 including FOOK 2 and MMM. I have (1) installed the most up to date versions of the mods, (2) sorted the mods using BOSS-F, (3) checked the mods that I want to use on FOMM (v0.9.1), and (4) created a merged patch using FO3Edit (v2.5.3). I am not getting any error messages on FO3Edit.

The problem is that when I go back to FOMM to select the new merged patch (which I understand should be at the bottom of the mod list), I do not see it there to check. I checked the FOMM list of mods to make certain that I was not placed out of order, but no luck. I repeated the process several times, and FOEdit shows each copy of the merged patch that I created (with different file names each time), but nothing ever appears on FOMM. I tried to find the location of the merged patch .esp files but I cannot locate them, either in my Fallout 3 directory or anywhere else on my hard drive. I had intended to delete all of the merged patch files and to start over, but I cannot find them to get rid of them.

I am running Fallout 3 v1.7 on Windows Vista. I have some of the DLC but not all. The game works OK as is, but some conflicts between mods are leading to missing textures.

Can anyone please suggest to me what I am doing wrong?

Thank you for your assistance.

I fixed this one. Problem was that I was still trying to run Fallout under Vista from inside the "c:\Program Files (x86)" directory. Not a good idea. Moved everything over to the root directory and all is well.
