darkprodigy4u
I have no idea why, but it seems now more than ever whenever I try to dismount my hourse, the camera freezes like the animation's playing, but it doesn't happen for like a full 5 or 6 seconds later. Meanwhile, my horse could be being mauled by a mountain lion or minotaur, and I'm helpless. Also occurs less often when trying to mount a horse, where my character will either freeze in place for several seconds, or continue walking past the horse, all uncontrollable. Sometimes he doesn't even get on. Opening up the inventory for a few seconds brings back the crosshair, and sometimes seems to complete the animation. Anybody else have this issue or know any fixes for it?
Kovalvlad
I see that your question remained without the answer?! Very sadly... I have a similar problem: the horse is frozen also by anything it not to force to move. There is no reaction even on pressing of the spase-key: as result - I cannot even unmounted! Sometimes a horse it is possible to force to move only jumps (by pressing E-key).Have you overcome this problem?
forli
It happens to me too. Some days ago a wolf start to follow me while riding my horse. I press Spacebar but my PG freeze for some seconds and the wolf make breakfast. Finally my PG dismounts but while unsheating my weapon, my horse became dead flesh. Then...... unimaginable violence against the wolf!!!!
bleeargh
Sorry to resurrect a topic that's two years old, but I'm having the the same problem these folks are having. Has anyone in the last two years come across a reason for this bug? My comp is getting pretty old but it rocked when oblivion came out. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 600+ 3.01Ghz, 4 GB of Ram (2.5 GB of Ram actually used due to Windows xp 32 bit environment)2- Nvidia 512 MB Geforce 8600GT's linked via SLI connector I'm running mostly quest mods. Pretty much the top 20 when doing a top mod search on TESNexus.com. I just installed Knights of the Nine-Revelations, because it looks awesome. I'm also running some male and female body replacer mods and some custom armor mods. I'm running all the DCL's that bethesda released. I have all the Unofficial patches running as well. I'm NOT running OOO, FCOM, Deadly Reflex, Better Cities or similar as they seem to much of a hassle. Once I loaded KOTN-Revelations I did all the standard upkeep. Like checking load order, checking for conflicts via TES4Edit, Re-builting the Bash Patch, etc. Everything seems to load fine and run fine except for the horse dismount bug.I checked to see if there were any .KF animations that might be conflicting within KOTN-Revelations, but the author hasn't messed with the horse animations at all. He's has added some .nifs for a custom horse, but that shouldn't mess with the animation.Oh, I should mention that this has happened before. Even before KOTN-Revelations was released. It took a reinstall of Oblivion to fix it. I have always run oblivion on this comp. at the "ultra high" video setting and never had any problems so I don't think it's a bottleneck due to computer performance. Anyone have any ideas? Yep, this has happened to me. In fact, it's the reason I now run everywhere and seldom use horses anymore.. hey it's great for your Athletics. But I remember using horses without incident the first time I played Oblivion. Back then I didn't have many mods installed and everything worked fine. Today, I've got nearly 2 yrs playing experience and a heavily modded game and the only reference to a possible culprit I've come across, is in the readme of the Utility "Streamline". Apparently this performance enhancing mod can cause problems with animations but there's no description of what kind of problems. This might explain why I didn't have the horse animation glitch before, because I only started using Streamline late into my first yr of playing OB. I don't know how helpful this information is to our common problem tho. Even if it turns out you're using Streamline, we don't know if the other posters were using it also. The best we can do is experiment ourselves. Take off Streamline if you're using it and see if that corrects the problem. And if that isn't the cause and you feel really masocistic, keep taking off mods to see which is the culprit. I've only just found out this information myself and haven't tried my own suggestion yet, but it would seem that it is likely to be another mod that's interfering with the dismounting animations. Sorry I can't be more definite but at least it's a start. All the best - NK
