Question regarding the HGEC body

Edit: Ok, so I made a new character and it worked. I guess I was using the right file. But the problem is It wont take on my existing char.

 

The file I am using was a downloaded save in which I took a face I made and pasted to it. The file was that of a cute elf Maeva. Which is located in the game save section of this site. Because it was an existing save from another person could that be affecting the tattoo being applied?

 

Edit2: I guess it wont apply to existing saves, I tried several others and It didn't work. Is there anyway to get it to pick up the changes in the texture file?

Oblivion/Data/Textures/characters/<see(1)>/female/footfemale.dds and footfemale.n.dds. (1) This is the race the character belongs too. Some custom races are different- Rens mystic elves use Ren/Mystic Elf/female/ Use the tattooed version and apply it to the cute elf race in the CS.Or download an existing collection of tattoos. Tatoos work better with a custom race. If you apply tattooed textures to the Imperial females, almost every female in the game will have tattoos.

I see I'm going to try that and see what happens. It didn't dawn on me to put it through the CS, I thought editing the texture file and saving it would just bring it into the game by default.

Edit: After several attempts and a few hours of work, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Instead of using the footfemale.dds, I had to use one that was just labeled body.dds. I saw it but all the tutorials I had found specified "footfemale"

 

After all that work I wanted to post a SS, might not be the best job or most difficult thing to do once you know what you are doing, but I was proud that I stuck with it and finally got it to work lol.
