thaipo
The short of it is that sometimes you will get this error when running OBMM under Vista or Windows 7, and installing an omod that uses c# for its scripting. Disabling UAC does not work in Windows 7, and somehow I get the feeling its not a consistent fix in Vista either. Also note that my oblivion folder isn't even on the same drive as the OS. The fixes I've found so far:-Run OBMM, go to the temp directory (C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\obmm)--Attempt OMOD install that errors--Press OK on error--Delete dotnetscript.dll in temp folder--Run OMOD installl(Repeat all steps for each omod this errors on; that includes shutting down and opening OBMM again) -Restart the computer--Open and install only the desired OMOD that errors.--Cross your fingers and hope this works (50/50 chance) Fixes suggested / tested and their results:-Installing Windows XP (...right, I'll get on that.)-Disabling UAC (doesn't work for Win7)-Running OBMM as admin (has no effect on my setup, but may work for those only encountering the write issue to Program Files)-Running OBMM in compatibility mode XP SP2 & SP3 with admin privaleges--Also has no effect. I'm creating this thread to hopefully find a more permanent solution, modify the source of OBMM, and throw a dll and the modified source to the community. Why? Because this... 16) I'm using windows vista. Why do my mods not show up in game even if they're active in obmm, why are my omods randomly disappearing, why do I get random access denied errors when activating omods, why is obmm generally being really weird? Short answer: because you're using windows vista. The best solution to all vista related problems is to uninstall it and get a decent operating system. Failing that, disable UAC. (Do a google search if you don't know what UAC is.) is not helpful. And putting it in a 'help' folder doesn't make it so.

thaipo
Installing Oblivion outside C:Program Files-for example C:I HATE UAC/Oblivion or C:Games/Oblivion. I'll be sure to include this in the original post as well; Oblivion is installed on a seperate *drive* entirely. M:\Games\Oblivion However, I will check again on modifying the permissions for this folder, as well as the Temp folder.
yeldarb
If the download is already an OMOD, you can manually install it into OBMM. the OMOD goes into Games/Oblivion/obmm/mods. The effects of a mod that replaces textures can be disabled by using the wrong type of archive invalidation in OBMM utilities.I do have my version set to BSA Redirection.Your problem might be caused because you are using a completely different drive. The program that allows this might work perfectly for default Windows programs, but it could be the cause of your headaches. I am not sure and I am just guessing, I do run Vista and the problems you are describing are usually caused by UAC and virus protection software blocking OBMM from working properly. If it is set to ReadOnly, try unsetting the ReadOnly checkbox.
