hoton80
Ok, well I'm rather new to Modding for Oblivion..well any game really.., and well.. i know how to add items to certain places, enchanted items.. ect.. but i have NO IDEA how to make my own custom items, i have a few really good ideas of items to make, but i have no idea how to make one.. i'd tried using Blender, but that really confuses me and NifSkope well, i have that but i don't understand it, its rather confusing to me.. can someone please like tell me a program? (THAT WORKS AND IS EASY TO USE) and maybe a vid (or a set of instructions on how to use it) because i'd really like to be able to get my Item's In-game.. i'd really love to put my "Spiked-Fighting Gloves" into the game, but at the current state im at now, i have no ability to do that.. Ty for reading this.. Write if u can help me =D (Sorry if this is in the wrong section, thought it would be right here because of "mod discussions") Ty.. stormwarrior
Hello there. To my knowledge there isnt actually any modeling programme like Blender, nifscope, 3dsmax etc. That are easy or fast to use, you'll just have to do baby-steps and then become better and better with time. Like they say, Rome wasnt built in a day ;)
JDGameArt
Hello there. To my knowledge there isnt actually any modeling programme like Blender, nifscope, 3dsmax etc. That are easy or fast to use, you'll just have to do baby-steps and then become better and better with time. Like they say, Rome wasnt built in a day ;) I agree... You're putting the cart before the horse. You're asking for the ability to produce 3D objects in a game setting that took millions of people around the world over 25+ years to develop in just a few clicks of a mouse button. Although we've come along way since Super Mario, it still takes some time to learn how to produce a useable model, then put it into the game it self. I know my answer was brutal, but it will save you alot of headache if you're not willing to put the time in. If you are willing to put the time in, start with the basics. For Oblivion that would be NifScope, and CS. Try maing a simple fun mod. Use the use the meshes, and textures you allready have from other mods, or from the BSA files and make somthing out of them. Or.. If you wanted to jump right into the "Spiked-Fighting Gloves" you could use one of the glove meshes from the BSA file. Load it up in NifScope, then export in what ever format you need so the modeling program can read it. This will at least give you a base mesh to mess around with. The problem is, once you get the mesh done in the modeling program you're still going to need to know NifScope to some degree so that you're model can be used in game. As Stormwarrior said "baby-steps". And have fun along the way.
hoton80
Ty for that, but what i mean is a need a modeling program.. i have no idea what one to use.. and i'd really like the ability to add my own Custom items, i realize it may take some time to be able to put things into the game, i meant like "quick" as in, not having to type like every single code for it, having at lest a basic set up to make it "easy"
