Hey, I've caught onto the PC version of FO3 late so please forgive me but which texture packs are best?

I've googled around for ages but there are soo many, some date back later than others so I'm unaware which ones are the best ones NOW. Also, I find a few really high Res packs for just rivet city of megatron etc.

Can someone please inform me of which packs I should get for an allround good experience?

My PC stats are:

AMD 3.00ghz quadcore

4GB RAM

HD Radeon 4800 series (not sure which one)

also the best mods?

NMC's Texture Pack should do just fine.

Go with hi-res everything and if it doesn't work/crashes/laggs too much then notch it down to Performance Pack.

Thats some cool moonspeak you got there, friend. Ain't nuthin' I understand tho'.

From the ... sound of things you should/could be fine with running full on hi-res pack from NMCs mod.

Oh, read the description in that mod, read it good. Then watch all the youtube clips, watch them good.

EDIT; Also, nice double topic post

I'll second NMC's Texture Pack as being completely worth the download times. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes, having all of the ground textures and the plywood and the cement and concrete and trees done up photorealistically. I ended up going with the performance pack myself, but the difference between full and performance isn't greatly noticeable. Especially not compared to vanilla Fallout textures.

I also recommend Konji and Zora's FO3 Retextured mod, specifically for the retextured vanilla armour and clothing. NMC's pack is world space and object retextures, not equippable stuff. I was able to pick the armour/clothing retextures out of FO3 Retex and together with NMC, they completely overhaul the game. There's some unfortunate mudflinging going on between the two sides, though. It's a shame. They're both talented artists and there's no reason for either of them to feel they have to poke at the other. Why can't we all just get along??
