samuraidoc
I'm hoping someone out there can help me with this glitch. I've no luck finding the answer so far. It's completely broken my game. I was in a random oblivion gate fighting a flame atronach when all of a sudden everything in the game sped up by about 10x. The last thing I remember doing was getting knocked down (Duke Patricks 'Smash of the Titans') Immediatlely following getting knocked down is when the glitch happened. I've reloaded earlier saves of diffrent characters, but the glitch is still there. I've tried restarting oblivion. Still there. I've read about a glitch called form id reference bug, but no other symptoms of this bug exist, and it doesn't explain the speed increase. I emphasize that it's not just my character that is sped up, it's everything. Have any of you encountered this and if so, is there a fix? Standing by. yeldarb
Posting your Load Order for a question like this will really help. Your timescale has been reset. Deleting the Oblivion configuration file in Documents\My Games\Oblivion may fix it.I wish I could tell how to prevent it from happening in the future.Read the readme for the mod that you think may be responsible. Look on TESNexus for patches or updates to your mods.
bben46
Are you using any mods that affect the time scale?
samuraidoc
Edit. Problem solved. I deleted the oblivion.ini file, so a fresh one was created when I restarted oblivion. Things are fine now. Craziest thing ever. Many thanks for such an easy solution that I never would have thought of (was on the brink of uninstalling oblivion...) roquefort
Interesting. Everything went slomo on me a while back, and killing the ini fixed it. There must be some mod that accidently messes with the time setting in some circumstances, but I've no clue which it is. Problem hasn't recurred, anyhow.
