Leliana expansion announced!

If your approval is too low, he'll betray in Denerim during the Landsmeet when you meet up with another Crow called Taliesen (random encounter). If your approval is high enough, however, Zevran chooses to kick his ass instead.

Oh, I have always had high approval with him so I never had that problem...

How low must it be for him to betray you; I can't believe he does that!

Another of this little Addons. I'm not really sure what i should think about that stuff. 5€ isn't an amount of money but the behaviour of Bioware is like they want to press out the last drop of milk. At the moment i won't buy that, still have enough to do with DA:O.

I would prefer if the would do it like Bethesda with F3 to create some new places and storys, have bought all of them (yeah i'm a little addicted to F3  )

To the little "side-topic".

I like to have Leliana in my team, too. Choosing is always the same for me, 1st Alistair, 2nd Leliana and for the other i have a look what to do next.

Interestingly, if Zev's approval of you is too low, he sides with the Crows and "finishes the job". If it's only Warm, he tells Taliesin that he won't actively help against you and disappears, leaving you short-handed to face the murder of (and by ;D ) Crows. And if you're north of that, he'll help defend you!

Hmmm, so there will be a surprise for me. I think i need to have a look how high his approval is for me, i have never taken care of it. He was only allowed to join my team because of that damn speech to me :whistling:

It's the mod that allowed that to happen that borked your ending, not Leliana. If you play it out right you can get her and Zev to stay with you at the end but it isn't easy (I've only pulled it off once.) Between that mod and the all origins playable by all mod my endings are so messed up it's almost funny (but still disheartening if you let it be.) It's the price we have to pay to get the options we want to have that they didn't want us to have.

@Saturn; I believe Rusty may be right and it's the combination of mods and epilogue branch faults that caused your hiccoughs (and not my sweet Leli!) While I always play with "Equal Love", and usually with "Polygamey" installed, I didn't experience the problems you mentioned. (Full Disclosure: I also found "Dialogue Tweaks" and "Epilogue Slide Fixes" before I ever finished my first playthrough with an active romance. And it's true, I hadn't realized there even was such an aspect to the game until the second time around. :P )

I think we all need to step out and wait what the people who play it are going to say. We can't say that 'it is crap' or 'another cheap DLC' without any evidence to support the claim. I'll wait and here what people have to say about the DLC, then think about buying it. Who knows it may be a good DLC for once and all of Leliana's dialog is vaed so I have no problem with that. We will just have to wait and see.

Good point, I will wait and watch. I still think they could have come up with a better idea though but it is always easy to second guess another.

As someone who knows I'll be getting this DLC, I'll be sure to report back on my impressions once I've had a chance to form them. To put any comments into some kind of context, here's my take on the DLCs to-date:

[Minor Spoiler Warning regarding DLC events]

TSP: Excellent! Exactly the kind of game-stretching content that I'd expect when paying anything more than the equivalent of iTunes "99¢-a-pop". I wouldn't say "cheap at twice the price", but certainly worth what I paid. (And I want more Shale in a future DLC!)

WK: Pretty good - Also worth getting. Wish the QA on dialogue branches had been a bit more robust. Don't think I should continue to have the option to ask Levi and Michael their opinions on their family, etc., after I've gone through them once (unless, of course, there are additional answers available!) Enjoyed meeting both Sophie and Avernus, and definitely grabbed the "Power of Blood", (even though it didn't port to DA:A properly, but that's not the DLC's fault.)

RtO: Meh. No new characters to enjoy (unless you particularly like the grunts of the Darkspawn.) Getting the chance to go after the Ogre that killed Cailan, and the Emmissary who raised him, was fun. (And the sputtering and snorting caused by encountering Cailan's corpse on the bridge whilst having Natural Bodies AIO installed almost made it worth the price! )

FeastDay anything: Waste of a few pseudobucks. Nice Jokes (my favorites are the Uncrushable Pigeon and the Chastity Belt) but should have been a total give-away. If they'd gotten some new VA lines to go along with them, (and the level of writing we've come to expect for Party Banter) then maybe it would have justified their charging for it. But as is, it's just paying to get an "offical" way to use the "zz_addapproval" console script, only with less control of the quantity gained or lost.

DC: NA - Haven't got it. Wasn't even planning to, but just saw an idea on the Bioware Forums about using a body/face morph to replace the Hurlock PC with Sten. Now that might be fun!

[/Minor Spoiler Warning]

(BTW: Would appreciate learning how to employ the "[Hide]" feature that I've seen others use!)

So from my perspective the trend has been a steadily declining one. Here's to "Leliana's Song" reversing course!

You use

when wanting to hide stuff and I pretty much agree with you there. I couldn't be bothered to get DC, waste of my time and probably the lowest point of the DLC. So I have I hopes for this one, lets hope it is good.

I believe I would enjoy "Leliana's Song". I do like her character, personality and banter and I think that her backstory would be interesting and very playable. For many of the reasons stated above I would have much less interest in Zev's story. After the Denerim backstab I kill him where he lays on the ground at first meeting. I found that slitting his miserable throat to be a quite satisfying act.

I will buy "Leliana's Song" IF.... and only IF.... it does not require patch V1.03. If it does then I shall, sadly, pass. .

I have spent most of the last month re-constructing my computer (long story) in order to regain stability and did just today get to a point where I can, finally, get back to actually playing the game.

So I will be danged if I would throw away all that frustrating tuning work by "upgrading" to V 1.03. Not going to happen. Sorry, Lel.

Wow, that's a solid wall of negative reactions on the first page, there. I'm surprised.

Me, I'm definitely giving this a shot. I like Leliana, and I'd be interested in exploring how she became the lay sister of Lothering's Chantry that we meet in DA:O. As for the whole "We know how it's going to end" bit; we knew how "Titanic" was going to end too. Millions of people saw it anyway. I know how reruns of my favorite television shows are going to end as well. I still watch them, though. And, when you get right down to it, I knew how Dragon Age was going to end. The story was hardly an original one. I played to game because the characters in it were interesting, and I wanted to see how they interacted, not because I thought for even a moment that the game was going to end in any other way than killing the dragon.

Which is the chief reason I did not buy (and probably never will buy) Darkspawn Chronicles. That's all gameplay, no RP. It has its place, and it's fans, but I'm not one of them.

Besides. I just might get to see Orlais. Maybe a small piece of it, if not Val Royeaux.
