LeatherValkyrie
Hello, I'm terribly sorry if this is the wrong place, but from the forum name I thought I'd start here. I recently bought the game of the year edition through Steam, and made it out of vault 101 with a character I'm somewhat satisfied with, though I found the flickering screen when shaping her face made it difficult. After browsing this site some I saw several mods which look to vastly improve the character bodies, and some that added new hair types ect.. For the females I saw Luchaire, whom I recognized from his(her?) Dragon Age mods, had one called Type V, which look quite good, it also intrigued me because of the fact it modified the armors and clothing to match the new body. Can anyone recommend one for the males? Also, of course I understand the body mods come with new textures for the bodies, but do the mods also improve facial textures, or do is there something separate for that? Like wise, what about hair mods? Having dabbled in Oblivion, and knowing it's the same engine... I knew there'd be a couple of things to download to help out. So I found the lovely archive invalidation invalidated, and a mod manager, FOMM. Is there anything I need? In regards to mods I'm looking for, basically only suggestions of things that enhance the experience the first time through, rather than any major game play changes or new content. Finally, would anyone suggest that I play through the game once with no mods what so ever before I stick my feet in? I haven't actually even enabled the DLC yet, which I have all five since it came with the game, for fear of a pop-up about horse armor. (Tell me that joke wasn't wasted... o.o) Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully reply.
Quetzlsacatanango
The joke for fallout was that the first DLC would be dog armor... The most popular male body mods are Roberts and Breeze, and they are compatible with each other texture-wise. I would probably play through unmodded at least once, just to see how much mods improve the game. After that it's personal opinion what you want to add or change. You can check out the Top 50 or 100 or whatever it is to see the most popular mods.
Nadin
You need to play without mods to know what mods you want. And yeah, the DLC's come with pop-ups, although somewhat ironically there's a mod that removes them. Go figure.Welcome to fallout 3, by the way.
