potemkis
I have the Ser Gilmore and Douglas companion mods going with the Party Recruiting by Southbeatz1169. I have recruited them both, however they do not show up in the party select area. Instead, they just kind of randomly show up with my current party during a cutscene or so. I'm just wondering if I didn't put something where it needed to be... -like the partypicker file and the Manifest files... where do they go, not quite sure about that one. And do I have to anything to get them to show?
DarkeWolf
Basically the problem is that the party picker files arent compatible with each other. You would need to merge them into one singular file, and drop them into your override folder. What you would have to do is take the information for the character's loacation on the picker screen and paste it into one of the other files. And probably have to edit their locations so that none of the characters overlap, on the screen.Now.... as I have never seen one of these files, I'm afraid that I cannot tell you which information that is.And what I thought might be an applicable tutorial for you to check for information.... wasn't. I wish that I could do more than just tell you what the cause of the problem is
potemkis
Thanks for the quick reply! Actually, your replay was very helpful as it set me in the right direction to figure it out. It was one of those things where I had no idea where to even start! Thanks again!
DarkeWolf
Well, I'm glad that I could be of SOME help at least :smile:Definitely wish you good luck, so that you can have all of your sidekicks running
potemkis
Also, something else I would like to do would be to get the Rikku Female Elf Templar to be a standalone companion (or figure out how to make my own) with gifts and such. There's a bunch of stuff in Origins that has nobody to give it to. I'd like to give them someone to be given to. I'm sure I can find info somewhere! Kind of goes along the same lines- is there a way to use the characters you make in the Character Creator or in the game itself to be used as new companions? Have a pre-made head waiting for you with no manipulation whatsoever. Now THAT would be cool!
DarkeWolf
Ok, bare in mind that I've never taken up a project like that, as I always thought that it would be too complex :whistling: I did however manage to locate a tutorial on the creation of how to make custom followers. http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Follower_tutorialI dont know if that has ALL The answers that you would need, especially with gift giving, but it should get you started, at least. I dont know if the scripts for the Sir Gilmore mod could give you some leads about the gifts or not, since I havent ever used that mod either. But you might check them. They would be a .nss file packed into one of the .erf files located inside the SG mod. The simplest way to look at an .erf file, is to extract it from the original mod folder that you downloaded, then make a copy of it. Say that the original file is named something like "Companions.erf". (Just a completely random name pulled out of thin air). Extract the file to a new location, rename it to "1Companions1.erf" (or whatever) and then drag and drop it into the toolset. Once you find the scripts inside the .erf file, you would need to right click on them and choose extract. Once you've done that, you can either view the scripts in notepad, or drag and drop them into the toolset. Now... one thing that I DO know, is that player character morphs, are hidden. You will not ever find them, by searching for them. I have tried on many, many occasions and have not ever located a .mor, .mop, or the container file, for them. You CAN however, use a savegame edit, to get the morph name. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=449Follow the information in that tutorial to get the name of your morph. That will not actually SHOW you the name, since the savegame lists the morph name INVISIBLY  But you can still copy it to clipboard, and use paste value to paste it into the new character's file to use it as a morph for that character. I hope that this can get you started. And DEFINITELY wish you good luck in this endeavor, as it sounds really cool!
DarkeWolf
Edited my post. I had the extension for the script incorrect. I originally had it as .css and it's actually .nss.css was for a different game. Sorry to double post. But want the OP to know about this, in case he tries to use my original instructions, thru the email alone, without coming to check the thread.
