I think you could make a script with ObSE like: GetEquipedWeapon Then Drop it.

Ihope its useful...

The drop function is a real pain to use and is best avoided for armor/weapons. This because it deletes the original item and creates a new one with full health and charges. So, you have to locate the item and copy the original stats back onto it. Additionally, dropped items don't decay (causes bloat) and can get stuck in the landscape. Edited by Maskar

Wouldn't a high-magnitude Disintegrate spell do this? Sure, it'd eat all the durability, but it would be dropped and should disappear in time as normal dropped items do.

You could even go a step further and create a script effect that stores the weapon's reference, smacks the victim with a second of high-magnitude Disintegrate so they drop it, then enable a quest script that waits for the player to pick it up. If they do within the time allotted, the item is repaired to a certain extent (say 40%-80%, in line with how much would be left after a bit of combat before knocked from its wielder's hand).

The problem is, I'm not sure there's a way to script durability restores. Plus, I think any reference that could be stored would only catch the base object; the object while it's in the inventory is another creature entirely. Hmn.

Still, some things to think about.

Disintegrate wouldn't work well as it doesn't always result in the weapon dropping on the ground. I suggest just calling unequip on the weapon and not bother with dropping it at all. Edited by Maskar
