RustyBlade
In my last playthrough as a city elf upon my return to the alienage, I exhausted the cut-scene dialogues with Soris and clicked on him one more time. The words that appeared over his head, while being somewhat contemptuous would not have elicited much more than "meh" were it not for the skilled voice acting of John Rubinow (well done.) "It must be nice to always get what you want." The spiteful and sarcastic tone just set me off. I was incensed that this ungrateful, wimpy, son-of-a-flightless wannabe Anderfel mongrel could think such a thing, much less speak to his chosen hero (his words, not mine) would say such a thing to me. Always get my own way - yeah right. I could have been content to live out a simple life with Nesiara but no, I spoke up and took full responsibility for killing every non-elf in the Arl's palace, had to drink down the blood of darkspawn, traipse from one end of Ferelden to another solving the problems of almost every individual I encountered killing almost twice as many people as darkspawn (up to that point anyway), talked Lloyd out of his cellar to die, watched a little boy's mother die in a blood ritual to save his life (hey, how was I to know the circle could have done it another way, Al just stood there with a stupid look on his face only to give me grief about it afterward), killed the wife of a close companion, had to choose between a pompous bureaucrat and a fratricidal megalomaniac to rule the dwarves, was instrumental in the death of the longest living elf since Arlathan fell... I could go on but anyway this sorry little whiner thinks I always get my own way?! I wanted to punch him right in the mouth and knock him on his sorry little a**! So this time around, I decided to exercise option 1 - "It was Soris and me." He starts with "What are you doing?" and then the pitch of his voice starts going up like he had a vise clamping down on the tiny little peas he's trying to pass off as testicles. Duncan steps in and saves my hide and informs us that Soris will live longer in the dungeon and that's when Soris starts screaming like a little girl. "Don't let them take me! Do something!" Ok, that's not going to work; reload - say nothing. Got pretty much the same result after that no account shrew rats us out. Always get my own way - yeah, right. Anyhow, rant over; hope I amused some of you but I had to get this out of my system. And no, ultimately I couldn't let him rot in the dungeon even after proving himself to be the nutless wonder that he is, ungrateful or not he's still family. I'm looking for a mod that lets me bust him in the face though. :whistling:
