Guest
Also, I think that the game sets an absolute max on your possible armor value. I have a full set of glass armor, master light armor, and I think 3 shield enchantments (along with other stuff) at 10 each, and it gives me 86 (I think, haven't bothered checking for a while). Meanwhile, full daedric (without any shield enchants), including shield and helm, gets me into the 60s because of my low (40s?) heavy armor skill. I noticed that when I unequip pieces of the glass armor set, I get the same armor value with just the cuirass, greaves, and shield (each with a 10 shield enchant), as I do with the full set. I'm trying to raise HA to see if that applies with daedric as well. If it does, then theoretically you could use one of the lower level armors and still get just as much protection out of it by loading a few shield enchants on it, although you would lose out on other useful enchants. As for training armorer, you could always try to create a self-targeted disintegrate armor/weapon spell, cast it till everything is busted, then fix it all up again. I didn't get into arcane university till after i got 97 or so armorer, so I never bothered making such a spell and its remotely possible that its impossible to do so, but in any case its worth a try. I just fast traveled to each of the wilderness camps, killed the bandits and repaired all their junk, then dropped it again.
