JonWangz
I just started installing mods, and so I took everything and put them in the data folder and replaced the meshes and textures and all that. But no matter what I check in the "Data Files" option, nothing changes the game at all. In fact, I actually went into the data folder and deleted both the mesh and texture folders and everything still looks the same! I tested deleting each folder and the only folder that seems to affect anything is the "Shaders" folder which causes every 3d object to not appear when deleted. I'm stumped. bben46
This is usually caused by Vista or Win7 UAC which does not allow changes to the protected files in the program files folders. Mods are changes.I do not recommend disabling UAC as that leaves a door unlocked for malware to disable your antivirus and firewall. The best solution is to reinstall the game outside of the protected folders.Create a new folder C:\Games|Oblivion Then uninstall the game and reinstall it in the new Oblivion folder you created. If you are not sure about uninstalling, Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice.
