Problem with ArchiveInvalidation and Steam Oblivion

Hey all

 

After both GOTY versions I bought at the store (different stores actually) had damaged CDs, I decided to buy Oblivian a third time... via Steam.

 

Now I have another problem. ArchiveInvalidation doesn't seem to work. Textures and meshes simply don't get replaced.

 

I tried both the installer version and the manual version, and I also reinstalled Oblivion AND Steam after it didn't work the first time. Nothing helped though.

 

If this is of any consequence: First time I installed steam to C:\Program Files\Steam\ and the second time to C:\Ga\Steam\ (my games folder).

 

In the Oblivion.ini, bInvalidateOlderFiles is set to 1 and ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa is also listed under sArchiveList

 

I just can't figure out why it doesn't work.
