Retroactive Character Modding

Hi there, after screwing up and losing a savegame, i unistalled Oblivion and have just come back to it after quite a few weeks away, anyhoo, ive been looking at all these mods available, particularly some of the ninja mods and some of the hair mods, now my question is, if you use a mod that changes the appearance of your char (i.e. Rens beauty pack), do i have to start a new char to use this or can i modify existing ones?

 

I understand that stuff like clothing and weapons are ok as they appear ingame for you to pick up, but im not sure as to stuff that alters the base character

 

Please use simple language in your answers as i wont read this till i get home and my poor brain cant take too much technobabble :P

Grab a mod like the race changing amulet (you can find it around here somewhere), and use it. It will open up the race changing screen that you went through at the beginning of the game. For something like hair alone, don't change your race, just go into hair, change it, then hit ok. If you change races your apearance will be reset.
