I'm not sure. I mean, since even if the warden dies at the end of DAO, after the epilogue, its still the same. The warden is standing on a field, with the option to go back to camp, or go to the DLC areas.

That's because that save is supposed to be set before the events of the epilogue, sometime after the Landsmeet and before you go to Redcliffe. It even says so in the game.

 

No explanation on dead warden being imported to Awakening, though. That's just an ass pull by the writers.
