Zentennen
When I'm starting the CS the window starts but I get a few messeges saying it is unable to load CTL file and other stuff and when I click yes to all the messeges It just freezes and I have to quit. I later get a messege about a program that makes CS not work correctly. I don't really understand what to do? is anybody able to help? Also if I get it to work, I would like to know how to make a script effect on a Touch spell that kills the opponent in 1 hit (I will turn off that it is affected by spell absorption, reflect spell and resist magic etc.). Also I would like the spell to change color of the character affected to #480000. So the target becomes completely dark red. I'm thinking of posting this as a mod on tesnexus so if anybody is able to help me I will add your username in my describtion of the mod as clearly as possible I just noticed that this is posted in General Oblivion, that might be the wrong place, sorry. David Brasher
My guess is that you have Windows Vista or Windows 7. Those programs do not get along well with the CS. You basically have to outwit the security system to gain access to your own programs. If this is the case, read the on-line documentation about what to do about the Vista problem. The best approach is to reinstall Oblivion outside of the "Program Files" directory which has the ridiculously stringent security protocols. For example, put it in C:\Games\Oblivion The simplest way to make a spell sort of like what you want would be to have a touch damage heath or drain health spell with a strength of 100000 or whatever the max is that the CS will allow you to have. All you would have to do would be to change the form ID and create a new spell, give it a new name and stats, and give it to a vender that sells spells, or find some other way for the player to acquire it. (Actually a spell like that would be too expensive to buy, so you might want a spell book, or a quest with new dialog and a result script that would add the spell to the player, perhaps after giving the vender some gold.) Both drain and damage spells use red shaders. You could use the one you liked. The game engine would automatically deal with spell absorption, spell reflection, and magic resistance. Now if you want to customize it more, you might be getting into expert modder territory and have to do some scripting and use Gimp or Photoshop and Blender for the shader.
