babastini Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I saw a few mods talking about something called Vanilla while browsing Fallout 3 nexus, could anybody please explain to me what it is?
Fonger Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 from google Mod or modification is a term generally applied to PC games, especially first-person shooters, RPGs and real-time strategy games. ...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_(computer_games)meaning no user mods added
bben46 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 As Fonger said, It is the base game with NO mods or DLCs. It may have the patch though. Just deactivating by unchecking the mods does not make it vanilla. The mods must be completely removed along with all of their associated mesh and texture files. Even when the esp and esm files are unchecked, it still loads the texture and mesh files from the mods.
Fonger Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 As Fonger said, It is the base game with NO mods or DLCs.Oddly, have seen people referring to game + DLC as being vanilla
babastini Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks for answering, how do I delete the thread now?
bben46 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 You don't. Only a moderator can. And I think I will leave this one for others who have the same question. However, I will lock it so no one else can post in it.Bben46, Moderator
