GoldenAngelHeart
Practice, practice and more practice. Up until now, I have not really created a ''Canon'' character for imports. But since the release of Inquisition is drawing ever closer, I feel it is about time I start putting some thought into the Canon characters to import from Origins into DA: 2 that will eventually be imported into Inquisition. In Dragon Age: Origins, I feel drawn more to a female Cousland rogue because the ultimate satisfaction of ''Do unto Arl Howe as he did unto your family" is intense and coupled with the Mod that allows you to hug Alistair after Howe chokes on his blood and dies, you can practically feel the weight being lifted off her shoulders when that part is over. Yet, I have not been able to decide on how I want the ending. I have done so many play-throughs that put Alistair and my Cousland on the throne because quite simply, I think Anora is a scheming, back stabbing twit like her father and quite frankly I cannot stand putting her smug face on the throne. But I have been doing some considering. I have never just kept my Cousland and/or Alistair in the Wardens together and it is too heart-breaking to allow either my Warden or Alistair to make the sacrifice in the end, so the ending of Alistair dying is out of the question. But I am seriously considering putting my feelings for Anora aside and just remaining in the Grey Wardens with Alistair. It will be my first Cousland role that will not be parked on the throne with Alistair. I haven't decided on what to do with The Circle. Normally, I save it so Arl Eamons whole family can be saved. But after so many times, Cullen does have a point. So is it worth the risk saving The Circle just to keep Isolde or Conner safe without positively knowing whether or not demons have possessed First Enchanter Irving? Jowen said he had nothing to do with summoning the demon that possessed Conner but if you talk to Conner before either killing him or saving him, he will tell you that Jowan gave him the spell/ritual that summoned it. So yeah, he did have an indirect ''something'' to do with it. So I am thinking about saving the Templars and annulling The Circle but not have Jowan do his blood ritual on Isolde but instead, killing Conner considering I tend to do The Circle before going to Redcliff. The elves. I will do what I have always done and save them by forcing that butt hurt Zathrian to end the curse. He was going to let his own people die for the sake of revenge and that's just not cool. As much as I hate putting a murderer on the throne, King Bhelen really is best for Orzammar but I will never side with Branka on the issue of the Anvil. Sorry Oghren, I like you but no..just no. And yes, I do plan on recruiting Sten, Zevran and Shale. But in the end, it will be my Cousland rogue as Warden-Commander in Awakening who will kill the Architect, favor the walls of Amaranthine and fully upgrade the Keep. However, the city will burn and my Warden will be returning post-haste back to Vigil's Keep to fight along side her fellow Wardens/Companions. Too bad we can't have Alistair there if he remained with The Wardens too to fight along side us.Velanna usually dies or is told to sod off when first meeting her. She's a worse *itch than Morrigan and I would put up with Anora before putting up with Velanna._______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Importing this to DA: 2, I will most likely be a rogue Hawke because I love being a tank-rogue. I am thinking of leaving Anders behind during the deep-roads but still taking Bethany. I have never rival'd any of my companions before so that might make for an interesting change but to be honest, I have seen rival'd play-throughs on you-tube and I am not sure if that is something for me. I have sided with both the Templar's and the Mages before so I guess that one would depend on how I am feeling by the time the resident dink decides to blow the Chantry to smithereens. I miss the before-Justice took over-Anders. I blame Justice. During Awakening, I caught a conversation between Justice and Anders where Justice is literally goading Anders into the whole Mage Rebellion concept. Not sure if I will be recruiting Isabella or not, I haven't decided on that one yet.______________________________________________________________________ So this is basically my thoughts on how I would like and want to play actual Canon play-throughs that will import all the way into Inquisition. What are your thoughts and/or ideas? Have you already done your Canons?
Thandal
Ho-kay... You do know that there will be no direct "import" of previous saves into DA:I, right? No matter how carefully you execute a DAO/TSP/RtO/WK/DAA/GoA/WH + DA2/Legacy/MotA playthrough, in the end you'll just have to re-establish your "world-state" for DA:I anyway. The Dragon Age Keep will be the only way you can have anything other than a "default" beginning for DA:I. (It's likely there'll be a few different generic options to choose from even if you don't bother with the Keep.) When you enter the Keep you'll be able to "retrieve" as much information as possible from any of your DAO or DA2 characters that had previously sync'd with your account on the BioWare Social Network (BSN) "Player Proflles", and use those as a starting point for your world-state. But as all of us who have had our previous choices ignored and even contradicted in later modules can attest, those "saves" are bugged! Even if you go this route you'll have to examine every choice and correct the mistakes "manually" in the Keep. As a participant in the Dragon Age Keep closed beta, I can't say much. What I can say is that you can tailor the world-state fairly exactly, (over 300 different decisions across the previous two games are reflected, with more being added all the time) and that I found it just as easy to create my "head canon" world-state from scratch as use any of the ones produced after selecting one of my existing "Heros". So while I, too, am planning another complete Dragon Age Adventure before Nov 18, it's not because I need to have "the perfect save" for DA:I There's no such thing!
GoldenAngelHeart
Interesting. Well, direct or indirectly, that's fine with me. I wasn't trying for a ''perfect save'' though, just for something that may be mentioned. The Dragon Age Keep sounds like a great start and sounds like something I would rather do than use a ''default'' start. It was made mention that references would be made about The Warden and The Champion, so I think that is what has appealed to me about creating and playing actual ''head canons'' with both Origins and DA: 2. Question though: Is there a particular order that the DLC's of the previous games should be played or does it matter? Also, thank you Thandol for replying. The information you supplied is most helpful!
Thandal
@GoldenAngelHeart, As far as the playing of them goes, the order of the DLC within DAO (TSP, RtO, WK) doesn't matter. The order in my post above is just the way I usually do them. As far as the overall story arc goes, DAO comes before DAA comes before GoA comes before WH, and you can't import a character who has completed a later one "backwards in time" to an earlier one. GoldenAngelHeart
Right. I knew that TSP, RtO and WK didn't matter and that DAA is after Origins. I should have been more specific. Sorry about that. :blush:Okay, so GoA before WH. That makes sense for those that go into the mirror with Morrigan to tie in with The Warden's disappearance. Too bad there wasn't a better explanation if you don't go into the mirror. But then again..There are A LOT of holes in places where sensible explanations should and need to be. Why leave an ending with more questions than answers? It's understandable why so many are upset. So many plot-holes and time lines that do not add up. I mean, unless Anders suddenly became a time-traveler, there is no possible way that he would have been in Kirkwall in Act 1 to provide the maps for the expedition. Anyways, that's probably a post for whole other thread right there. Thank you again, for the helpful advice Thandal.
