Not Enough Magicka

Hi

I have an Asassian/Mage

I want to practice my spells but I have a problem:

I dont have enough Magicka

I have 47 INT and when I raise the INT up my magicka goes up by only 2 points

Is it because I'm not a mage or there is some other way to raise my magicka cuz there are spells which take about 100-500 magicka to use...

Any suggestions what to do?

Disregarding any bonuses from spells, enchantments, potions, or abilities, your maximum magicka is always double your current Intelligence.

Your only option for gaining magicka faster is getting higher multipliers for Intelligence when you level up. In a pinch, you can use a spell, potion, or enchanted item to fortify your magicka. Once you've gathered some fame, you can head on over to one of the doomstones and you'll get a once-a-day spell that will fortify your magicka. If you create a new charachter, you could always select a birthsign or race that gives you a bonus to your initial maximum magicka.

Of course, if you can't get more magicka, there are ways to have your magicka points go farther -- get some cheap unique spells (like the ones that the Dark Brotherhood provides) if possible, and, failing that, just use weaker spells. You'd do well to note, also, that once you train enough in a certain school, it appears that the magicka cost of spells in that particular school drop significantly. If you have a spell that's just out of reach, training five levels in its governing school may do wonders.

I think your question has been asked before. It's always useful to do a search before posting a question as you get the answers quicker and it pleases the other members of the forum.

However as you are new I'll answer this time.

You need to have obtained the seven recommendations for the mages guild that gives you access to the Arcane University or have a mod that does not make mages guild membership necessary. This gives you access to the Chironasium (I think that's what it's called). In there you will find the altar for enchanting. To enchant you need three things; an enchantable object such as a weapon, piece of armour or clothing, a spell at a level you can cast that you want to use and a filled soul gem. Click on the altar and follow the instructions. Filled soul gems are sometimes found in random loot but empty ones can be purchased. To fill one you need to have an empty soul gem large enough to contain the soul of whatever it is you are trying to trap. You then cast a soul trap spell on the potential victim and kill it while the soul trap spell is still operating.

Please note the following things that can go wrong:-

1. The soul you are trying to trap requires a higher level empty soul gem than you have in your inventory.

2. The duration of the soul trap spell is not long enough for you to kill the creature and the soul is not trapped.

3. You want to add an enchantment effect for which you have a spell but the spell is outside your casting ability. Most effects are available at all levels with different names, search for a lower level of the one you want. You can presumably also fortify your magicka temporarily to allow you to cast it.
